Coffee cake is one of the most valuable organic waste that will serve well in the country, because it makes an excellent and incredibly effective fertilizer! Such a top dressing can be safely added both directly to the soil or compost, and to the water intended for irrigation! The coffee pomace does not contain any chemical impurities, but the natural substances in it help to significantly improve the structure of the soil, and also significantly improve the process of plant nutrition and stimulate their growth, and its aroma is endowed with the ability to scare off voracious pests

The benefits of sleeping coffee

Ground coffee, regardless of the degree of its roast, is characterized by increased acidity. In the process of cooking, it invariably turns into the drink itself, and the thickness remaining from the use of this very drink can boast of already neutral acidity (about 7 pH), respectively, it can be introduced into the soil without any fear, without any fear of acidifying the soil!

Coffee grounds are rich in such useful substances as magnesium with nitrogen, phosphorus with calcium and manganese with potassium. That is why it will be an excellent top dressing for both indoor flowers and a wide variety of garden crops: nitrogen will favor their growth, taking an active part in photosynthesis, and potassium with phosphorus will have an extremely beneficial effect on flowering crops and on the process of fruit formation! At the same time, the risk of overdose or the possibility of harming growing crops in this case is zero!

In addition, dry brewed coffee is actively used when growing mushrooms - compost containing coffee pomace is endowed with the ability to increase their yield at least twice!

How to use coffee cake?

In order to feed plants, coffee cake can be used both in dry and liquid form. In the first case, it is thoroughly dried before use, and then carefully combined with the soil. This fertilizer can be stored both in paper bags and in glass jars. If you want to use coffee cake in liquid form, then in a separate container you need to collect the sediment from the drink you drink along with the liquid - this composition is subsequently used for watering. But the "liquid" option is not suitable for feeding indoor plants, because a moist substance in this case can become a fertile environment for the appearance of mold.

If the coffee grounds will be used for watering, then first the plants need to be watered with the coffee composition, and then with ordinary water: this approach will contribute to the best gradual percolation of nutrients into the soil, where they, in turn, will actively nourish the plant roots.

There are other options for using coffee pomace: some summer residents mix it with the seeds of various garden crops (this technique is especially often used for root crops) before sowing them, and also scatter small coffee pomace on the soil surface around the seedlings or add it when planting garden plants in the wells with abundant subsequent watering. Coffee cake will also serve well as compost, contributing in every way to increasing yields, and experienced gardeners and gardeners often dig it into the soil to a depth of about four centimeters - when mixed with the top soil layer, coffee cake will help prevent the soil from drying out.

You should not take too much coffee cake to feed the plants - if there is too much of it, it can begin to cake into sufficiently dense crusts, which in turn will prevent oxygen from reaching the roots. And even more so, do not add dormant coffee to the soil intended for growing seedlings, since the germination of seedlings in this case will greatly slow down!

Quite actively, coffee cake is also used to get rid of pests - aphids, snails with slugs or ants. Most often, garden crops are processed for this purpose by spraying, and to get rid of pretty fed up ants it will be quite enough just to pour coffee cake on the anthill. In addition, the coffee aroma is endowed with the ability to scare away cats, which means that they will no longer relieve themselves right in the beds!

Coffee cake will also bring a lot of benefits in the difficult, but important matter of changing the structure of the soil - clay garden soils, enriched with this kind of raw materials, become loose and light! And the ability of coffee pomace to attract earthworms to the site makes it a valuable component for making high-quality compost!
