How to get rid of dandelions in the area?

Dandelions are very beautiful flowers, but, unfortunately, they are usually classified as weeds, which give hardworking summer residents a lot of unpleasant troubles. Easily settling around the site, they very quickly capture a very impressive part of the territory! That is why many gardeners and gardeners strive to get rid of these handsome men in the most ruthless way! How can you get rid of dandelions, so much so as to do it quickly and for a long time?

The main ways to fight

Currently, there are several main ways to combat dandelions: firstly, this is the use of a wide variety of folk remedies, secondly, it is the use of special chemicals endowed with the ability to inhibit or completely stop the growth of annoying weed, thirdly, it is systematic weeding and digging beds with flower beds and, fourthly, is the use of a simple device called a root remover.

Which way to fight if there are few dandelions?

If there are still not very many dandelions on the site, it is quite acceptable to do it in the simplest and most accessible ways for everyone. And one of the most important ways in this case will be the observance of agricultural technology! All the beds on which cultivated plants will subsequently be planted are deeply dug, while simultaneously extracting all weeds from them, including even small fragments of rhizomes crushed with a shovel.

All the shoots that will subsequently appear on the surface are necessarily weeded out, systematically loosening the soil - this approach will prevent both the seeds from entering the soil and their subsequent hatching and rooting. Garden paths with aisles should not be ignored - it is, of course, very difficult to completely weed out the weeds on them, but you can significantly weaken them with a flat cutter, a hoe or a hoe! With proper treatment of the "risk zones" before flowering, dandelions will not reproduce at all, and the plants that have already appeared in such zones will very quickly weaken. And, of course, in no case should you forget about the autumn digging of the soil!

Using folk remedies

The simplest remedies such as boiling water, table salt and vinegar essence help best in the fight against dandelions. Getting on the bases of rhizomes, these rather aggressive compounds kill growth points, which in turn inevitably entails suppression of weeds and their subsequent death. In this case, the salt can be used both in dry form and in the form of concentrated solutions. Such means are good in that they act exclusively on the specimens selected for destruction, without exerting the slightest negative effect on the fertility of the soil and on the crops growing nearby. Here are just too large dandelions, the length of the root system of which often reaches twenty to thirty centimeters, such means are not very effective!

Herbicide use

Before using this method, it is important to make sure that the herbicides will not harm lawns and crops. Such preparations will become a real salvation if dandelions literally flood everything around! At the same time, they are divided into two independent groups: drugs that kill all vegetation on which they fall, and selective drugs that can only destroy rhizome weeds or cereals.

Broad-spectrum drugs - "Agrokiller", "Tornado", "Roundup" and some others - will help to eliminate not only dandelions, but also thistle with wheatgrass. However, it is important to understand that the effect of such funds does not end immediately after spraying them - they will oppress all nearby vegetation (including cultivated ones!) For several more weeks! Therefore, before using them, it is necessary to properly cover not only the cultivated plants, but also the soil under them. Ideally, this kind of processing is best done either with the onset of early spring, long before planting the necessary crops, or in the fall, when the entire crop has already been safely harvested. Don't forget about personal protective equipment!

And the best option is to use several different methods in combination: an integrated approach to weed control allows you to get rid of the hated weeds much faster and more efficiently! So you don't need to be afraid to combine several options at once, especially if there are not just a lot of dandelions on the site, but a lot!
