Functionality of clematis supports

First of all, the support for clematis must be stable, strong and withstand the abundant mass of the plant. It is equally important that it be aesthetic, especially after the foliage has been shed. Therefore, before creating, you need to think over the details of the frame so that from autumn to spring your building does not spoil the general appearance.

How and from what material are clematis supports made

Any material is chosen: wood, plastic, metal. The painting of the finished product should correspond to the range of nearby buildings and be in harmony with them. The most practical option is an iron corner, a profile. For arched supports, a reinforcing bar is used. Trellis structures, as a rule, are made of wooden blocks. The support frame is made from any raw material in the form of a tripod or a fan. Supports from a willow twig look interesting. Many people prefer to take a coarse-mesh metal mesh for the base.

In any case, for the strength of the installation, it is necessary not to forget about the "legs" for deepening, usually 40-50 cm. The height is maintained 160-200 cm. The width between the posts is 120-150. A similar frame is connected with decorative mounting strips according to your imagination. Internal rails can be attached in any direction: vertically, at an angle, diagonally, cross, horizontally.

Metal mesh support

The installation of the support begins with a monolithic connection of the pipe to the center of the wheel (welding, soldering, screws).

The free end of the pipe is driven in half a meter, the wheel is placed on the ground surface. Hooks are evenly distributed around the circle, on which the ropes are attached. The free ends are fixed at the top of the post. It is important to try to pull the threads well. Such a support allows the plant to quickly prepare for wintering in the fall - the lower hooks are removed and the cords are pulled out of the stems.

Wall trellis

The most common way to grow clematis is the trellis option. The popularity is explained by the decorative result, practicality and ease of manufacture. A frame is made in the form of a frame from 10x40 mm bars, the crate is made of non-thick slats. The cells are kept with a span convenient for the plant 20x20 cm, it can be smaller than 10x10; 5x5. Usually on 6 horizontal rails 8 vertical ones are attached. The height is selected individually, but not higher than 3.5 meters, this is enough to cover the wall to the roof.
