The holiday of the Bright Resurrection of Christ is approaching. And it is almost impossible to imagine it without fancy colored eggs. You can paint eggs at home in a variety of ways. Let's recall those of them for which there is no need to buy expensive artificial colors, but you can get by with the simplest and most affordable natural materials that are easy to find in almost every home and in every kitchen of any housewife
Dyes and specks: simple egg dyeing technology
To make dyes, probably everyone knows the simplest and most inexpensive way - to use onion peels. It can be used to color eggs in different shades: from pale orange to dark red-brown.
There are two ways to do this:
• first - first prepare a concentrated broth of onion peel, and then dip the boiled eggs into it and keep them in the dye for several minutes to an hour, depending on the desired color intensity;
• the second is to collect the husk in a saucepan and add water, let it boil and dip the raw eggs in the paint so that they are boiled in the dye itself.
The second way is faster. And the first one is more suitable for those who want to get more and more interesting colors of the eggshell. For example, if you would like to color the eggs with polka dots. Then you get the so-called speck.
The decoration method is very simple. To do this, you will need:
1. First, prepare a decoction of onion peel.
2. Then boil the eggs.
3. Allow both to cool.
4. Light a candle and drip hot paraffin or wax onto the egg.
5. Dip the egg into the cooled dye.
When the eggshell is colored, the eggs are taken out of the onion husk decoction. And gently scrape off the paraffin. Under it, the shell will not stain and will retain its original color. Having got used to it, this way you can apply not just droplets to the Easter egg, but whole ornaments.
There are other ways to apply drawings. For example, you can use greens. To do this, you need to wet the egg and attach the leaves of parsley, dill to it. Then tie the egg into a nylon sock or sew it into gauze. And then dip it in the dye. After a few minutes, remove the egg from the paint, remove the "bag" and "stencil" from the parsley. The beautiful outlines of greenery will remain under it.
Refined rags, for the creation of which you will need to be patient
Creation of a ragweed is a very creative and painstaking job. This is a technique for creating a pattern on an egg already colored with egg husks. To do this, a drawing with a simple pencil is applied to the shell. It can be any ornament, an image of a temple, various symbols of Easter. Drawings of flowers and birds are often made.
Then any sharp object is taken - a needle, an awl, a thin knife - and scratches are made along the contour of the drawing. Thus, a white decor appears on the painted egg.
Other natural colors for eggs
In addition to onion husks, there are other products that can be used to give the shells shades of various colors of the rainbow. For example:
• when eggs are soaked in ordinary beet juice, beautiful shades of pink and raspberry are obtained;
• blue color with a purple tint comes out if you chop red cabbage, add a little water and cover the eggs with such a "vegetable dye" for several hours;
• a dark green shade on the shell is obtained from a strong hibiscus broth;
• another simple drink that can be used to color the symbol of Easter is ground coffee, you need to boil eggs in it;
• orange color is obtained when eggs are boiled in carrot juice;
• boiling eggs in spinach juice gives a light green hue;
• yellow color will turn out for those who boil eggs in water with turmeric powder.
It is recommended to add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the dye.
