Yarutka (Latin Thlaspi) - a fairly numerous genus of herbaceous plants of the Cabbage family (lat. Brassicaceae). The number of plant species of the genus is determined today by the number 80 (eighty). A wide range and a large number of species allows plants of the Yarutka genus to experiment with the shape and size of leaves, the lifespan of one plant (can be annual or perennial), and the height of the stem. But the flowers, typical of the Cabbage family, with four petals, the plants of the genus remain faithful and faithful. While many species of plants of the genus Yarutka are considered by people today as weeds, some species of the genus show amazing healing abilities.

Description

Plants of the Yarutka genus are herbaceous plants with an erect, strong stem that can live only one year, leaving seeds to guarantee their continued presence on the planet, or be perennial plants that live for a long time in one place, if natural disasters, such as fires, do not interfere.

The leaves of plants are petiolate, which, as a rule, are located at the base of the plant, and sessile, climbing up the stem, half-embracing it. The sheet plate is simple, with a smooth or jagged edge.

The stem ends with a lush inflorescence of small white or pink flowers. Hermaphrodite (bisexual) flowers are composed of four whole marigold petals, with a yellow spot of free stamens in the center and a sessile ovary. Sepals stand guard over the delicate flower.

Pod fruits in different species take on very different shapes. It can be round or elliptical, oboval or oblong, almost triangular or obverse-heart-shaped cute pods. Most often, the winged pod flaps are shaped like an old boat.

Seeds in pods can also be of different appearance: smooth, punctate or furrowed, and are located two pieces in one nest.

Varieties

* Field yarrow (Lat. Thlaspi arvense) is an unpretentious annual plant, under the simple appearance of which healing abilities are hidden. The rich chemical composition of the herb and seeds of the plant makes it possible to use the Yarutka field for the treatment of many ailments, including male impotence, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis and many simpler problems. In addition, young leaves are added to salads, and seeds can replace mustard. And the most interesting thing is that the seeds can be used as biodiesel raw materials. True, a lot of seeds will be required for such a task.

* Umbrella yarok (Latin Thlaspi umbellatum) is an annual plant growing on the sandy and rocky mountain slopes of the Caucasus.

* Yarutka Shovitsa (Latin Thlaspi szowitsianum) is an annual plant found only in Karabakh, with a small-flowered inflorescence of white flowers.

* Early yarutka (Latin Thlaspi praecox) is a perennial plant with thick leaves, reddish sepals and white flowers, collected in a corymbose inflorescence.

* Pierced Yarok (Latin Thlaspi perfoliatum) is an annual plant with a typical appearance for the Yarutka genus. It has a wider range, growing on the territory of Europe, including the European part of our country, in the northern territories of Africa, captures the Middle East, is found in Central Asia and the Altai Territory.

* Yarutka is rounded (Latin Thlaspi orbiculatum) is an annual plant, endemic to Georgia, where it grows in the mountains. It has typical 4-petal white flowers and rounded pods.

* Grandiflorum (Latin Thlaspi macranthum) is a perennial perennial plant, endemic to Western Transcaucasia.

Scientists have proven the ability of plants of the Yarutka genus to accumulate such heavy metals as cadmium and zinc, which can be used to improve the health of workers employed in hazardous industries with such metals.
