Sivets lugovaya is known under many popular names: breast grass, breath grass, lyubka, umbilical grass, willow herb and childbearing. Sivets meadow is a perennial herb, endowed with a truncated thick rhizome, which looks like a chopped off, and such a root will also be provided with thick root lobes. The stem of this plant is erect, its height will fluctuate between thirty and ninety centimeters, at the top, this stem will bear two flowering and opposite branches. Basal leaves of meadow sow are on oblong and rather long petioles, while the stem leaves of this plant will be opposite, smooth, whole-edged, glossy and lanceolate. The flower heads of the sivets meadow are hemispherical, they are endowed with a herbaceous multi-leaved wrapper, they can be painted in both bluish-lilac and white tones. Each flower of this plant is endowed with a four-toothed corolla, and there are only four stamens. The pistil of the sivets meadow, in turn, is endowed with one column and a lower ovary. The fruit of the meadow sow is a hemicarp. The flowering of this plant occurs in the period from July to August.
Under natural conditions, sivets lugovaya is found on the territory of Moldova, Belarus, the Caucasus, the Dnieper region and the Carpathians in Ukraine, the Irtysh, Obsky and Verkhnetobolsky regions of Western Siberia, the Angara-Sayan region of Eastern Siberia, as well as the following regions of the European part of Russia: Verkhnevolzhsky, Nizhnedonsky, Dvinsko -Pechorsky, Karelo-Murmansk, Prichernomorsky, Zavolzhsky, Karelo-Murmansky, Baltic, Lodazhsko-Ilmensky and Volzhsko-Don. For growth, this plant prefers felling, herbaceous swamps, shrubs, low-lying meadows, alkaline meadows, forest edges and glades.
Description of the medicinal properties of sivets meadow
Sivets meadow is endowed with very valuable medicinal properties, while it is recommended to use the rhizomes and grass of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes flowers, stems and leaves. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of unstudied glycoside, tannins and saponins in this plant.
It is noteworthy that the roots of Sivtsa meadows have become quite widespread in homeopathy. As for traditional medicine, a decoction prepared on the basis of the roots of this plant is used here as a very effective emetic, expectorant, anthelmintic, wound healing, diuretic and expectorant. In addition, such a medicinal plant is used for stomach colic and ascites, and a powder based on the rhizomes of sivet meadow is used externally as an anesthetic for toothache.
