Sugar-shaped handguard is one of the plants of the family called Umbelliferae, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Sium sisaroideum DC. (S. lancifolium auct., Non Schrenk.). As for the name of the sugary handguard family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Apiaceae Lindl. (Umbelliferae Juss.).

Description of the sugary handguard

The sugary bridle is a perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between fifty and one hundred and twenty centimeters. All this plant is naked, and its roots will be thin and fibrous, their thickness will not exceed two millimeters. The stem of the sugary guardrail is endowed with creeping underground shoots, they will be ribbed and straight. The leaves of this plant are simple-pinnate, they are endowed with two or three pairs of leaves, which are rarely simple. Such leaves are equipped with a rounded heart-shaped plate, while the upper ones will be trifoliate, while the lower leaves are ovoid-lanceolate in shape. Umbrellas of the sugary handguard are endowed with smooth furrowed rays in the amount of about ten to fifteen pieces, in diameter they will be about three to five centimeters. The teeth of the calyx of this plant will be triangular and short, the length of the petals reaches one millimeter, they are obverse-heart-shaped and painted in white tones. At the top, such petals will be notched, and the notch will have a curved top. The length of the fruit of the sugary guardrail is about four millimeters, while the width is about two and a half millimeters.

The flowering of the sugary guardrail falls on the period from July to the month of August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the European part of Russia, Moldova, Central Asia, the Caucasus, in all regions of Western Siberia with the exception of only the Ob region, in the Crimea, in the Dnieper region and in the Carpathians in Ukraine. For growth, this plant prefers flooded meadows, as well as damp banks of swamps, streams, rivers and canals.

Description of the medicinal properties of the sugar warp

Sugar-shaped bridle is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb and roots of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes flowers, stems and leaves. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of the following polyacetylene compounds in the roots: falcarinolone and falcarindiol. In the fruits and grass of the sugary handguard, in turn, there is an essential and fatty oil, which contains petroselinic acid.

The roots of this plant are endowed with a diuretic effect, and the herb exhibits anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiscorbutic properties. The decoction, prepared on the basis of the herb of the sugary armworm, is indicated for use in various acute respiratory infections and digestive disorders.

As a diuretic, it is recommended to use the following very effective remedy based on this plant: to prepare it, you will need to take one teaspoon of crushed roots of the sugar-shaped handguard for about one glass of water. The resulting healing mixture should be boiled over a fairly low heat for about four to five minutes, after which this mixture is left to infuse for two hours and filtered very carefully. The resulting healing agent is taken on the basis of a sugar-like guardrail three to four times a day, two tablespoons. With proper use, such a healing agent is very effective.
