Often, the ertendal plectrantus acts as a ground cover plant. The plant is endowed with both hanging and drooping shoots. Actually, it is for this reason that the plant often acts as an ampelous plant and is used for landscaping balconies, loggias, as well as rooms.

As for the maximum size in culture, the height of the ertendal plectrantus can reach about ten to fifteen centimeters, while the diameter should be adjusted by trimming and pinching. It should be noted that the plant will grow quite intensively and in a short time will be able to cover a large area.

For the favorable development of this plant, a regular transplant should be carried out approximately every two to three years, while the pots are recommended to use standard proportions. When the ertendal plectrantus is grown as a ground cover plant, it is important to change the place of growth of this plant as necessary.

As for the composition of the land mixture itself, it is important to mix three parts of leafy soil, as well as one part of sand, turf or garden compost. The acidity of such soil can be either neutral or slightly acidic.

The plant requires bright, diffused light, for this reason, the plant should be kept in either east or west windows. If the ertendal plectrantus grows on the southern windows, then additional lighting will be necessary. As for growing on northern windows, additional lighting will need to be provided in the autumn and winter periods.

This plant is recommended to be kept at a temperature in the range between fifteen and twenty-five degrees of heat. The plant should be watered abundantly and regularly. Excessive moisture and overdrying of the soil can adversely affect the development of ertendal plectrantus.

Most often, this plant is recommended to be grown in pots, the diameter of which will be less than seventeen centimeters. In such pots, the soil should dry out in about three to four days: it is this watering regime that will be most preferable.

When the plant is grown as a ground cover, it is important not to allow the soil to completely dry out approximately: at a depth of ten to fifteen centimeters, the soil should remain slightly moist.

It should be noted that this plant is able to tolerate a low degree of air humidity quite well. However, it is not recommended to place the ertendal plectrantus next to heating systems. The optimum moisture level for growing this plant will be about fifty to fifty-five percent.
