Description of round-leaved irgi
Irga round-leaved is a shrub, the height of which reaches two meters. Such a plant will be endowed with ovoid serrated leaves and flowers painted in white tones. Such flowers are collected in corymbose racemes. The fruits of this plant are dark red and rather juicy berries, the size of which is approximately equal to a pea. The flowering of round-leaved irriga falls on the month of May, and the ripening of the fruits falls on a time from July to August. In natural conditions, the plant is found on the territory of the Crimea and the Caucasus. The round-leaved irga is cultivated in Ukraine and in the south of the European part of Russia.
Description of the medicinal properties of round-leaved irgi
Irga round-leaved is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use leaves, bark of shrubs and berries.
It is recommended to harvest the fruits of this plant without stalks. These stalks should be used fresh or dried. At the same time, it is recommended to dry the stalks in fruit and berry dryers. Leaves should be harvested in May-June, and the bark is harvested in the autumn period. The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content in the composition of this plant of sugar, organic acids, coumarins, tannins, flavonoids, beta-sitosterol, ascorbic acid, B vitamins, provitamin A and the following trace elements: cobalt, lead and copper. In the bark and leaves of round-leaved irriga there is a large amount of tannins. Actually, due to the presence of vitamins, the fruits of this plant can be used for the prevention and treatment of both hypo- and avitaminosis B and C. In addition, such fruits can also be used for the prevention of atherosclerosis, which is associated with the presence of beta-sitosterol in the plant, which is cholesterol antagonist.
As for traditional medicine, the juice of the fruits of the round-leaved irgi is widespread here. This tool is used for rinsing with angina. Sometimes medicinal astringent drinks are also prepared, which consist of a mixture of the juice of this plant with juices of pears and apples. Such juices are recommended for use in various gastrointestinal diseases: including enterocolitis, colitis and gastritis.
For all of these diseases, it is recommended to use decoctions consisting of one part of the leaves and ten parts of the bark of the bush. Jam, compotes, juices, jam, jelly, marshmallow and even wine are prepared from the berries of this plant.
A valuable healing agent is this: for the preparation of this agent, twenty grams of dry crushed leaves of this plant are taken in one glass of water. The resulting mixture should be boiled for five to six minutes over a fairly low heat in a water bath, after which the mixture is infused for one hour, and then filtered very carefully. Such a remedy is taken one third or one fourth of a glass three times a day before the start of a meal.
It is also permissible to prepare such a decoction in the following way: for cooking, take twenty grams of dry crushed grass for two hundred milliliters of water. This mixture should be boiled in a water bath for ten to twelve minutes, after which the mixture is infused for an hour and filtered thoroughly. It is recommended to take such a remedy one fourth or one third of a glass three times a day.
