Description of the cat's paw
The cat's foot is known under the following popular names: anikin's tears, babik, pansies, womanizer, immortal, beluga whale, gourd, breast grass, toad, hare's foot, chubby and skochiki. The cat's paw is a perennial herbaceous dioecious plant, the height of which will be about eight to thirty centimeters. Such a plant will be endowed with white tomentose stems and creeping shoots. The leaves of the cat's paw are painted in green tones from above, from below they are white-tomentose, the basal leaves of this plant will be spatulate-inverse, and the stem leaves are sessile, they can be both linear-lanceolate and linear. The flowers of a cat's paw are in baskets that gather at the top of the stem in rather dense corymbose inflorescences. In bisexual baskets, the flowers are painted in white tones, while in women they will be pink in color. The fruits of this plant are oblong achenes, endowed with a tuft of serrated hairs.
The flowering of the cat's paw occurs in the period from May to June. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the European part of Russia, the Caucasus, Moldova, Ukraine, the Far East, Siberia, the Urals, as well as in the middle and northern regions of Central Asia. For growth, the cat's paw prefers dry meadows, forest edges, light forests on poor soil, sandy places and places along sandy river banks.
Description of the medicinal properties of a cat's paw
The cat's paw is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb and flower baskets of this plant for medicinal purposes. It is recommended to procure such raw materials in the period from May to June.
The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of saponins, resins, sterols, vitamin K, carotene and tannins in the flower baskets of this plant.
The infusion, prepared on the basis of inflorescences and grass of a cat's paw, is endowed with hemostatic, choleretic, diuretic, astringent, anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Such an infusion of this plant is recommended for use in cholelithiasis, as well as as a choleretic agent for cholangitis, cholecystitis and liver.
An infusion of grass and rhizomes of a cat's paw should be used for gargling, and also used as a poultice, which is applied to both wounds and tumors. An infusion prepared on the basis of the herb of this plant should be used internally for whooping cough, bronchitis and sore throat, dysentery, pulmonary tuberculosis, diarrhea, gastritis, leucorrhoea and menstrual irregularities.
As for traditional medicine, here the infusion of the herb of this plant is also used as an anti-inflammatory and emollient in the form of poultices and rinses for hardening of the mammary gland, abscesses, bruises, tumors, flu, goiter, eye diseases and syphilitic ulcers. Also, such a remedy is also used as a pain reliever for gout. Gruel based on the leaves of a cat's paw should be applied to the fingers during felon. With gonorrhea, the herb infusion is used in the form of douching, and fresh wounds should be sprinkled with the powder of such an herb. It should be noted that earlier the leaves of this plant were chewed for pains that are concentrated in the uterus.
