Description of prostrate milkweed
Euphorbia prostrate is an annual herb, the height of which will fluctuate between five and thirty centimeters. Such a plant is painted in gray tones, and when ripe, it will most often turn red. The euphorbia root is erect, slender, while the stems are present in several pieces and will be creeping. The flowers of this plant are in the forks and are single, in turn, a glass of euphorbia will be funnel-shaped, its length will not even reach one millimeter, and its diameter will be equal to one millimeter. Such a glass is endowed with triangular blades. There will be only four euphorbia nectars, they are transversely oblong. The three-roots of this plant will be truncated-ovoid, its length will be about one and a half to two millimeters, such a three-root is three-grooved. The seed of the prostrate milkweed is colored in grayish tones, it will be oblong, smooth and tetrahedral, and the length of such a seed will only slightly exceed one millimeter.
The flowering of the prostrate milkweed falls on the period from June to September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the Crimea, southern Ukraine, Central Asia, in the Amur region and Primorye in the Far East, in the Altai region of Western Siberia, in the Daursky and Angara-Sayan regions of Eastern Siberia, as well as in the following regions of the European part of Russia: Nizhne-Volzhsky and Nizhne-Don regions. For growth, this plant prefers cotton fields, rocks, rocky slopes, places along the sides of roads, along river banks on gravel and sand, in millet crops and in the mountains at an altitude of one and a half thousand meters above sea level. It is worth noting that Euphorbia is a poisonous plant, for this reason, you should be strictly careful in any handling of this plant.
Description of the medicinal properties of prostrate milkweed
Euphorbia prostrate is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the roots, milky juice and herb of this plant.
The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the content of phenolcarboxylic acids and their following derivatives in the composition of this plant: quercetin, gallic acid and methyl ester of gallic acid. Malic acid is present in the milky juice of prostrate milkweed, while there are resins in the roots, and flavonoids in the leaves and inflorescences.
As a diuretic, it is recommended to use the roots of this plant for food poisoning, in the absence of menstruation, with severe diarrhea, with cardiac and renal edema.
It is noteworthy that in Tibetan medicine this plant is very widespread. Milkweed is recommended to be included in the composition of multicomponent preparations in the form of root powder, while a decoction prepared on the basis of the roots of this plant is indicated for use as a very effective laxative.
In Chinese medicine, an infusion or decoction of the herb of this plant is used for heavy bleeding and as an anthelmintic agent. It should be noted that the milky juice of prostrate milkweed is an effective remedy for removing warts.
