The sad legend, which is associated with the appearance of a flower with the name "Carnation" on Earth, determined its further fate. A red carnation is laid at the monuments of freedom fighters; to the Eternal Flame, lit in memory of those who died on the battlefields for the independence of our land. Cloves are also popular with gardeners. Its various varieties are adorned with Russian flower gardens
Legendary carnation
The ancient Greek gods were not distinguished by justice and often tried to shift the blame for their own imperfections onto the shoulders of someone who was weaker (which was later successfully adopted by people). The goddess of the hunt, Artemis, was no exception.
Once, getting up in the morning “on the wrong foot”, she had an unsuccessful hunting day. Returning tired and angry, the goddess met at the picturesque stream a cheerful shepherdess, who was entertaining her sheep by playing the flute. Such carelessness and the simplicity of happiness tripled her anger, and she blamed the boy for her failure. Allegedly, it was he who scared away all the game in the area, breaking the silence with the trills of the pipe.
Unlike the lamb from the fable of I. A. Krylov, who tried to defend his innocence, the shepherd did not have time to say a word, as he was left without eyes. Although, what connection between the eyes and the pipe is difficult for an inexperienced person to understand, but Artemis was a goddess, and the gods know better.
When Artemis's anger subsided a little, something like conscience suddenly began to speak in her. She could not bear the gaze of these innocent eyes, and therefore did not find anything better than throwing them on the path, where they sprouted with two red carnations, personifying the spilled innocent blood.

Gardener's Autumn Worries
Someone dreams of planting an apple orchard, others prefer cherries, and still others love raspberries and strawberries. But sometimes plants for some reason do not take root or refuse to bear fruit, although we adhere to all the rules of planting and caring for our pets. The fact is that different plants require different soil pH levels, and when this indicator is exactly the opposite, then you cannot expect high yields
