Lysichiton American represents the well-known Aroid family and is a rather large and bright perennial endowed with powerful creeping rhizomes. His leaves are exclusively basal and fold into bizarre rosettes. And the petioles of the beautiful leaves are winged, wide enough and reach a length of fifteen centimeters. The width of the oval-elliptical shape of the leaf blades is on average about thirty centimeters, and their length can reach a meter. Closer to the bases, the leaf blades taper, and towards the tops they are slightly pointed.
The height of the slender peduncles is about thirty centimeters, and the inflorescences of the luxurious American lisichitone are somewhat reminiscent of calla inflorescences and have a rather fetid odor. This attractive plant is sometimes called yellow or western skunk cabbage. The covers of the inflorescences, painted in a juicy yellow color, reach 4 - 6 cm in width and 20 - 25 cm in length. When the plant has faded, these bedspreads dry up immediately and fall off quickly. The diameter of the green ears of this bright handsome man is about two centimeters, and their length reaches fifteen centimeters. The fruits of American lysichiton are green berries. And you can admire the flowering of this beautiful plant in May.

Reproduction of American lysichiton mainly occurs by seeds (preferably freshly harvested), and its seedlings bloom after sowing only in the fourth or fifth year.
