In the middle of summer, many fields are covered with white petals of numerous daisies. These cute and humble flowers are always associated with tenderness, purity and sincerity. On them you can not only admire or guess about love. With the help of chamomile remedies, you can give a serious rebuff to diseases
It is difficult to meet an adult living in Eurasia, in particular in Russia, who has never heard of chamomile. This is one of the most famous wild flowers in our country. But chamomile and chamomile are different. I would like to remember not about important and large garden daisies, but about simple, small and modest ones that grow in wild fields.
Nice smell and dill greens
Particularly distinguished among them is the chemist's chamomile variety. It can be recognized by two or three signs: it has a strong smell, the greens are similar to dill, and the general appearance corresponds to one of its popular names - peeled chamomile (too thin and small, unlike its garden counterparts). But despite this, pharmacy chamomile is called so for a reason - it contains a lot of medicinal properties that are officially recognized by medicine and have been known for many centuries.
Pharmacy chamomile is not so proud: it does not rise on a thin stem, but grows in bushes - one plant is enough for a bouquet. Only florists don't really like her. Let her place not in vases, but in jugs, but in a home medicine cabinet she can become one of the favorites. Some experienced herbalists claim that if there were no other remedies, this plant would perfectly cope with almost all diseases. For example, rinse a child's eyes from conjunctivitis - a weak infusion of a flower will come in handy. Cure a cold throat - an infusion of chamomile for gargling (to the color of strong tea) will do. And if there is a disorder in the intestines, it is useful to add a little chamomile broth to the tea.
Universal remedy
Today, farmers cultivate entire fields of this medicinal plant. It is purchased by representatives of not only the pharmaceutical, but also the cosmetic industry. "Antiseptic, sedative properties" - such words have never been heard before. They just knew that delicate chamomile cures for many ailments. They knew how to prepare medicinal products from them: infusions, decoctions, gruel, poultices. The hair was lightened with chamomile, a golden hue was given, the yarn was dyed. Used in households: for livestock feed and as an insecticidal agent against pests in the garden.
It blooms from May to August, so you can pick it slowly. Where is more of it? As a rule, in thickets on small slopes and in rye or wheat. Along the road, although there is a lot of it, you should not collect it there. Basically, it is the flowers that are picked, but the whole plant was also used for healing baths. Whoever in appearance did not distinguish the pharmacy chamomile, he smelled - it has a strong and pleasant smell.
There are two more types of chamomile similar to this one, but they do not have such versatile medicinal properties. These flowers usually smell much worse. Over time, you can learn to accurately recognize the "correct" daisies. For a start, it is useful to go to the collection of plants with a well-versed person in this matter.
Doctor's advice is needed
It is very difficult to name all the diseases in the fight against which chamomile can help. This is neurosis, colds, insomnia, scrofula, bowel disorders, kidney, liver, stomach, bladder diseases … There are a lot of recipes, but they need to be selected wisely, and with the permission of the attending physician. The wrong collection or treatment without taking into account the side effects will only harm. If you need to be very careful when using this plant inside, you can safely use it externally: for burns, eczema, bruises, rashes … An experienced herbalist will tell you the secrets of collection and preparation. And if you don't have time to collect yourself, then there are preparations with chamomile in almost every pharmacy.
Harvesting chamomile is not difficult, but remember that its beneficial properties last only for a year. For all its usefulness, it also has contraindications. For example, it does a good job of treating disorders of the nervous system, but if abused, it can have the opposite effect. The plant contains a lot of essential oils, and if used too much, it can cause headaches. It is also important to know about individual intolerance. There have been cases (albeit rarely) of severe allergies.
Many people call chamomile flowers, similar to it in their structure - the core, which is framed by cilia petals. There are many such plants - asters, calendula, kosmeya, etc. But only tender daisies in wild fields are at the same time slender, useful and dear to the heart.
