Description of fragrant chamomile

Fragrant chamomile or chamomile is an annual or perennial herb, the height of which will fluctuate between five and thirty centimeters. Such a plant will be endowed with a very strong spicy smell. The stems of odorous chamomile are hollow, furrowed and branched. The leaves of this plant, in turn, can be both double-pinnate and triple-pinnate, they are endowed with sharp, linear-filiform and grooved segments below. Flower baskets of fragrant chamomile will be single, they sit alone on rather short, but thickened upward peduncles. Actually, due to the strong foliage of the plant itself, such flower baskets will be very little noticeable. The flowers of scent chamomile are tubular, they are endowed with a four-toothed corolla and are painted in greenish-yellow tones. Actually, it is precisely by the presence of such tubular flowers that this plant can be distinguished from chamomile. The wrappers of the chamomile flower baskets will consist of obtuse, ovoid leaves that are filmy at the edges. The fruits of this plant are cylindrical achenes, which will be quite large in size and endowed with a short margin without a tuft.

The flowering of fragrant chamomile falls on the period from May to September. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of all regions of the European part of Russia, Belarus, the European Arctic, Chukotka in the Eastern Arctic, the Siberian Arctic, the Caucasus, Moldova, Central Asia, the Daurian and Angara-Sayan regions of Eastern Siberia, the Irtysh and Verkhnetobolsk regions of Western Siberia. For growth, this plant prefers fallow lands, places near roads, river banks, fields, wasteland, meadows and places along the sea coasts. It is worth noting that odorous chamomile is an invasive and weed plant, and it will grow in rather large groups.

Description of the medicinal properties of fragrant chamomile

Fragrant chamomile is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use flower baskets of this plant for medicinal purposes. It is recommended to harvest such medicinal raw materials at the very beginning of the flowering period in clear and dry weather.
