Zucchini belongs to the pumpkin family. The fruits of this vegetable crop contain a large amount of amino acids and vitamins. In addition, this product is low-calorie, which will appeal to young housewives. And in care, almost all varieties of zucchini are not demanding and unpretentious, that is, you will not have to invest any excessive efforts and hassle. This explains the high popularity of zucchini in vegetable gardens

Zucchini love warm and well-lit places, due to which the beds are carefully and carefully selected. But the composition of the land where the plant will be planted is also important for them. If the fertile soil has a neutral reaction, then such conditions will be favorable for zucchini. The beds can be selected after any vegetable crops except pumpkin.

Preparation of the soil for planting should begin in the fall. To do this, humus is introduced into the ground, and if it also has increased acidity, then fertilizers of a mineral nature and lime must also be added here. Sometimes summer residents prepare the beds only in the spring. In this case, fifty grams of superphosphate, one bucket of compost and quite a bit of wood ash must be added to one square meter of the plot before planting.

How to plant zucchini with seeds on open ground?

There are two types of growing this vegetable crop - planting zucchini with seeds and transferring seedlings to the open air. In the implementation of the second situation, the zucchini will delight the owner of the garden much earlier. But if there is no hurry, then you should pay attention to the first option.

To begin with, the grower needs to choose high-quality and suitable seeds for planting. Old planting material grows very poorly and tightly. For this reason, experts advise checking seeds for germination approximately thirty days before planting. Moreover, such a test must be carried out for each package. To begin with, the material for sowing is soaked in a solution containing potassium and sodium humate. Half an hour is enough. Then the seeds are laid out in two layers on a wet cloth, and the inside of the shred is kept moist and warm for three days. You can also go the simpler way - just immerse the seeds in water with a temperature of fifty degrees. Only after competently carried out preparation is it fashionable to start sowing zucchini seeds in open beds.

The optimal parameters of the ground temperature for seed germination are the boundaries from twelve to fifteen degrees. Therefore, it is believed that the best time to plant such a plant is the end of spring. Many vegetable growers do not plant zucchini all at once, but gradually, maintaining an interval of five or six days, which helps to extend the timing of the harvest.

Zucchini beds should be seventy centimeters wide. In this case, holes for sowing seeds are made every half a meter. So it turns out that three plant specimens will be located on one square meter of the site. Further, each hole is fertilized with one handful of humus and a spoonful of ash. All this is mixed with earth and poured with mineral fertilizer. One hole can accommodate two or three seeds, which are lowered to a depth of five centimeters, which depends on the lightness and airiness of the soil in the garden. As soon as shoots appear in one place, you need to choose the strongest one and leave it, and cut the rest at the root.

How to grow and care for zucchini?

At the moment when the first leaves can be observed on the sprouts of the zucchini, weak plants should be removed. Those specimens that remain in their place should be covered with earth and a certain fertilizer should be applied, consisting of chicken droppings in 15 parts of moisture or manure dissolved in ten liters of water. Zucchini need pollination, which is why it is required to attract bees to them. It is best to spray the leaves with honey solution. As for the implementation of watering, they must occur regularly and in a timely manner, and the water for the procedure must first be settled in the sun's heat. Watering ends about seven days before the start of the harvest. Subject to all the rules of planting, care and cultivation of zucchini, the fruits will turn out to be large and juicy. They are quite popular in cooking and are used in the preparation of all kinds of dishes and for preservation.
