In order for the harvest of a crop such as pepper to be rich and of high quality, it is necessary to carry out all dressings and other procedures on time
Pepper needs fertilizers almost all the time of its growth and development, starting from the moment when it looks like seedlings. But here it is very important to make the right choice of components for fertilizing a vegetable and follow all the rules for applying top dressing at a certain time.
In the modern world, the cultivation of pepper has become very relevant, although earlier this useful product was grown only in America. It is interesting that all varieties of this vegetable crop are usually divided into two types, according to taste - bitter and sweet. Both of these varieties include a lot of other varieties that differ in taste, appearance, and method of cultivation.
The plant is very fond of sunlight, but drafts and excessive humidity affect it negatively. As a land for planting, it is better to give preference to light sandy loam or loamy type. But you cannot use soil with high acidity here. You can plant peppers in those beds where white cabbage, cucumbers, legumes or onions used to grow. But do not take the place left after eggplant and tomato. All diseases of these crops can be unexpectedly transmitted to pepper. The same pepper planting site can only be used once every four years. Otherwise, diseases and insects that have accumulated in the soil can harm this crop.
How to feed pepper seedlings?
Even before planting such a useful vegetable as pepper, you should prepare the soil for sowing seedlings. Organic pepper fertilizers applied to the soil here, as a rule, consist of peat compost or manure. Such substances should be applied in an amount of three to four kilograms per square meter. Also, seedlings that have been fertilized with straw and nitrogen will grow well. It is also required to feed the seedlings while they are growing, so that the culture itself is strong and healthy. The positive effects of the nutrients will be noticeable after the initial feeding. However, this is not a signal to stop feeding.
Superphosphate and urea will be a good option for a feeding procedure for seedlings. But if something cannot be used at all, then it is potassium chloride. It can completely destroy pepper seedlings.
It is important for any summer resident and gardener to follow the sequence of fertilizing. The first pick is carried out at the moment when the first leaves became visible on the sprouts. Then, after a couple of weeks, you can carry out the initial feeding. For fertilization here you need to take ten liters of water, and then add superphosphate there. Such a solution should stand for twenty-four hours. Only then other components are added to it in the form of ammonium nitrate, urea and potassium sulfate. Also, do not forget that you need to feed the plant immediately after it has been watered and sprayed with a spray bottle with water.
A similar mixture will need to be applied in an amount of fifty to one hundred milliliters for each sprout, and then water it again very abundantly. Thus, it will be possible to wash off the particles of the solution accidentally falling on them from the leaves of the vegetable crop.
However, there is another option for fertilizing seedlings, which is no worse than the previous one. They are bird droppings or slurry. Their cooking differs only in that five liters of water are taken for one part of poultry manure, and ten liters for one part of manure. Various trace minerals dissolved in water can also help peppers grow faster and better. Boric acid, potassium, ash, copper sulfate and much more can be taken as such substances.
How to feed peppers planted outdoors?
Further feeding should be carried out until the fruits appear on the bushes. The first fertilizers here will need to be applied two to three weeks after transplanting seedlings to an open bed. To prepare the fertilizer, you need to take superphosphate in the amount of five grams and urea (ten grams). These ingredients are added to a bucket of water. A mixed solution in the amount of one liter must be poured under each bush, but care must be taken so that drops do not fall on the leaves and other elements of the plant.
