The built-in, isolated clothing room is the perfection of our everyday life. Anyone who has ever used a dressing room always strives to have this functional space in their home

Benefits of a dressing room

- The cheapness of the arrangement in comparison with the purchase of sliding wardrobes, which have an expensive facade finish, door mechanisms. The dressing room has no doors, fittings, only open shelves, racks, hanger bars and one front door. One such room replaces three or four full-fledged wardrobes.

- Freeing the living space from the pile-up of furniture for clothes and household items (wardrobes, dressers, cabinets).

- Inclusion in the original layout of the house allows you to reduce the size of the house, since there is no need to arrange additional furniture in the rooms, so there will be less space for living.

- Capacity, availability, ease of retrieval and storage. The opportunity to change clothes, while calmly combining the details of the wardrobe.

- Dressing room - presentable type of home, order, cleanliness.

Dimensions and layout

A full dressing room, depending on the number of family members, has an area of 3.5-5 m2. The size depends on the shape of the room. The most practical option is a rectangle, where the shelves are located along the walls, and the middle is used for the passage (1-1, 2 m). To create a fitting area, you will need another one and a half square meters.

The dressing room can be located in the aisles, for example: on the way from one room to another, from the bedroom to the bathroom, it is convenient to do it under the stairs to the second floor. In these cases, the creation of closed shelves or equipment with sliding or hinged doors is required. A rational solution would be to place an attic ramp in the fender liner. Here it is enough to have a height of the outer wall of 1-1.5 meters. A higher position will make it possible to hang clothes on a hanger.

Dressing room in the hallway, in the lobby

It is good to have a storage room for seasonal shoes, outerwear near the entrance to the house. It is logical to store umbrellas, bags, sports equipment and other frequently used small items (keys, flashlights, small tools) here.

Dressing room zoned in the bedroom

The entrance to the dressing room is located next to the bedroom. The entrance can be directly from the sleeping area or be located next to the hall. Bed linen, blankets, tablecloths, towels, light clothes, hats are placed here. And also allocate space for shoes and out-of-season clothing, underwear.

Dressing room equipment

The specifics of storing things consists of shelves, drawers, rails for hangers, racks for boxes with shoes. Usually the owner copes with such "construction" on his own, so that the savings in finances are obvious.

The floor in the room is made of any materials, it is advisable to install heating in the covering or install an electric convector, then dampness will not appear and it will be comfortable to change clothes in cool weather. The lighting should be bright, this will help you easily navigate the room. On the ceiling, it is better to organize several lamps or hang a bus with a directed flow above the aisle, you can lay strips of diode illumination.

When arranging a place for a hanger, you should retreat from the wall to a bar of 35 cm for outerwear, a little less is required for dresses - 30. The rails can be arranged parallel to the wall or according to the end pattern. It is also recommended to line up according to their height: adults-children.

Shoe shelves have their own parameters: depth 35 cm. Shelves for linen, bags, hats - 40. All shelves remain open for quick orientation. For changing clothes, you need to place a mirror and a seat.

Ventilation of the dressing room

Ventilation is a mandatory requirement when equipping a dressing room. If it is absent, unpleasant odors will appear, condensation may collect on the walls, microorganisms may spread. This question disappears if there is a window for ventilation.

With good air exchange in the house, you can bring the ventilation holes to an adjacent room (hall, corridor, hallway). If one of the walls is outside, then you can get fresh air through the created inlet valve in the wall. For the lazy, there is a completely simple way of ventilation - a slightly open door or a gap left under the door during installation. Often a 20 * 20 cm lattice is inserted into the lower part of the door from below so that the room “breathes”.

The room, where the outlet of the vent is meant, must have a good channel of natural draft - at least two doors or a window. All schemes should exclude the exit of air from the dressing room into the residential sector.
