Hay fenugreek or Helba (lat. Trigonella foenum-graecum) - an annual herb from the genus Fenugreek (Latin Trigonella), ranked by botanists as a member of the Legume family. This unpretentious plant does not shy away from clay soils, feeling great in the arid regions of our globe. Even the Egyptian pharaohs healed their diseases and battle wounds, using the healing abilities of this plant. Since the plant is found in different parts of the planet, there is a long trail of names behind it.

Multiple names of one plant

The Arabic name of the plant, Helba, means "ring", "arena". The origins of the name lie in the hieroglyphic Egyptian script, which, as scientists assume, is at least five thousand years old.

In Russia, a similar plant is called "Fenugreek". In the countries of Southeast Asia, you can hear in response to the question: "What kind of plant is this?" various mystical names such as Chaman, Methi, Shambhala.

Latin connoisseurs translate Trigonella foenum-graecum as Greek hay. Perhaps the Greeks made hay from the plant's nutritious grass.

Allah himself, through the mouth of the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, mentions the healing powers of the plant in the Holy Quran.

Description

One summer season is enough for a plant to go through all stages of development and give the world its irregularly shaped healing seeds, which contain unique medicinal abilities. Helba does not try to surprise in height, rising to a maximum of 60 cm. Lanceolate leaves of an obovate shape, like a three-faced god, are arranged in three pieces on one short petiole. The edge of the leaves is decorated with graceful denticles.

White or yellow miniature moth-type flowers appear in our world from the axils of the leaves. They are replaced by the fruits of the plant in the form of pods, inside which are angular light brown seeds. It is difficult to call them beans, since the usual oval shape of beans has turned into an angular shape of grains, more like buckwheat grains. But their value lies not in the name, but in the medicinal abilities.

Medicinal use

The uniqueness of Hay Fenugreek or Helba lies in the fact that the healing abilities of the plant's fruits act on the human body as a whole. They increase appetite, drive out parasitic aliens (worms), tune the digestive system in the right way, and a well-functioning digestion process, in turn, awakens vitality and good spirits in the body.
