Anemone oak (lat. Anemone nemorosa) - a native of forest zones located in the European part of the Russian Federation, in the Mediterranean and western European countries. Relatively recently, the species was listed in the Red Book as an endangered species. Today, the oak anemone (or oak anemone) can be found mainly in birch and deciduous forests, less often in spruce. On personal household plots, the Dubravnaya anemone is a frequent guest; gardeners and flower growers love it for its mysterious and very attractive appearance.

Characteristics of culture

The oak anemone is represented by perennial herbaceous plants, not exceeding 25-30 cm in height, and equipped with a thickened horizontal cylindrical rhizome. It, in turn, is highly branched, with proper care and favorable growing conditions, it grows very quickly, forming an almost solid carpet, covered with three times dissected foliage and white flowers with a purple tint on the visible side.

The flowers cannot be called large, some do not exceed a diameter equal to 2 cm, but mostly - 5-6 cm. The petals of anemone oak ovate flowers, as a rule, their number varies from 6 to 8, no more. The flowering of the culture in question is observed in early spring, usually in the third decade of April - the first decade of May, the timing is variable, which depends on the climate and weather conditions. The seeds of the culture are formed in huge quantities, they are self-seeded, forming lush flowering carpets the next year.

The oak anemone is striking in its fragility, and, despite this characteristic, the plant is classified as resistant. In addition, the culture is famous for its healing properties, before the plant was included in the Red Book, folk healers collected it to create infusions and other "potions" that can cure many diseases.

The cultivated species is actively used today in the garden, it is often combined with other representatives of the Anemone genus or varieties. Most often, they are decorated with alpine hills, rocky gardens and areas along trees and shrubs, which have a sparse crown that lets in sunlight, which plants so need. Indeed, in the dense shade of the oak anemone, it stays behind in growth and does not bloom, or blooms with small rare flowers.

Healing properties of culture

As already mentioned, the oak anemone boasts medicinal properties. The foliage contains a "shock" dose of vitamin C, it also contains saponins, organic acids, tannin, etc. Infusions and decoctions of anemones are used as antifungal, sedative and analgesic agent. They also have expectorant, bactericidal and diaphoretic properties. Especially infusions of the type in question are valued in the treatment of bronchial diseases, they instantly remove phlegm, and allow you to completely eliminate a strong cough.

Infusions and decoctions are used in the treatment of dermatitis of various etiologies. Moreover, she is subject to the treatment of open and purulent wounds, hated eczema and even rheumatism. It is believed that Dubravna anemone is effective against sexual weakness, it is recommended to be taken by both women and men. True, you should drink infusions after consulting a doctor, because the species in question is poisonous, but there are maximum permissible values. The collection of plants is carried out at the time of flowering, drying is carried out in a shady room.

So, the Vestal variety is represented by lush plants with relatively large flowers, endowed with a double perianth. The Allenii variety is no less interesting; it is characterized by small lavender flowers.
