Every summer resident is well aware of the benefits of ash for gardening, but not all gardeners and gardeners know that ash can be useful in the household! So don't underestimate the benefits of this valuable product! It is important to understand that not all ash can be useful - it is best to give preference to wood, plant or coal ash, since such ash is always enriched with useful microelements. Why is it useful to us in everyday life?
Fertilizing indoor plants
Not only the crops growing in our summer cottages, but also our favorite indoor flowers will not refuse feeding with ash. When replanting them in the spring, it makes sense to add to the soil and ash at the rate of two tablespoons of ash for each kilogram of soil mixture. I will especially like such feeding of fuchsia, cyclamen or geranium!
However, ash feeding will be no less effective for large green pets, which are not transplanted every year. To prepare an infusion for feeding them, three tablespoons of pre-sifted ash are diluted in a liter of water, after which this composition is insisted for a week, stirring it periodically. The consumption of such a composition for dressing indoor flowers should be about 100 ml for each liter of pot capacity.
If home flowers have been attacked by malefic midges or thrips, it is recommended to dust the soil surface with ash. Also, to achieve the best effect, simultaneously use glue traps and reduce the volume and frequency of watering.
Pet food
If you carefully read the composition of many cat foods, you can often see ash there. And this is correct - the useful microelements contained in it are necessary not only for the full development of plants, but also for the full functioning of the animal body! That is, the ash in the composition of cat food helps our purrs to renew the reserves of nutrients in the body, and this is very important for strengthening their teeth or bones, and for normal fur growth, and for adequate metabolism or proper digestion. If desired, you can add a small pinch of ash to the most common food for cats! The only important caveat is that you should not treat pets with ash content to pets suffering from urolithiasis: sick animals need a diet based solely on natural products!
Use in outdoor toilets
Ash will also bring a lot of benefits when used in village or country street toilets - if you systematically add it to the contents of these, it will contribute not only to the suppression of various pathogens, but also to the destruction of an unpleasant odor! In addition, later in the compost heaps, the decomposition of ash mixed with feces occurs much faster, and the compost heaps in this case will not acidify!
Bleaching laundry
Once upon a time, many hostesses actively used ash to give the desired whiteness to the linen. And they assure that ash coped with this task no worse than the advertised modern means! Moreover, the effect obtained often exceeded their expectations, and, importantly, in order to use this method, it is not at all necessary to be the happy owner of a washing machine! It is enough just to put a small bag filled with ash in boiling water, and then put the prepared laundry there too!
Ash for beauty
It is perfectly acceptable to use ash in home cosmetology. It is especially useful for skin care - a mask with the addition of ash will definitely help get rid of pimples and blackheads, discolor pretty boring age spots, and also free the skin from dead cells, and skin pores from hated fatty secretions. To prepare such a miraculous universal mask, a tablespoon of birch ash (it is previously ground into powder) is combined with a tablespoon of cream and three tablespoons of cottage cheese.
And baths with ash perfectly help to lighten and soften the skin of the hands: a teaspoon of sea salt and three tablespoons of wood ash are dissolved in a liter of warm water. Then the hands are immersed in the prepared solution and held there for fifteen to twenty minutes.
