The long-awaited July has come. A blooming front garden pleases the eye. Cucumbers ripen by leaps and bounds in the garden. Handsome tomatoes are becoming more and more rosy. A gardener-gardener is on his feet all day, so much has to be done that sometimes you forget about lunch. Drops of sweat drip from under the hat, so you will brush it off inadvertently. And the hot July sun is just waiting for such a moment
Country air and vast expanses add energy to a person, dulling vigilance. It seems that you have as much strength as you had in your youth. But no one is immune from the case. It can happen anywhere and to anyone. And not always there will be a medical professional who can help the trouble. And help is needed immediately. Then the "doctor" should be the one who is next to the victim.
Midday lies in wait in the field
The ancient Slavs had a belief: if you work in the field from early morning until dusk, you can meet a field spirit - noon. She can come to a meeting in the form of a young pretty girl in a white dress, or she can dress up as an ancient old woman with gray hair. Whatever form the noon takes, at the meeting with it a heavy bell will ring in your head, a violent wind will rustle in your ears, your face will blaze with fire, covering the whole body with heat. From such drastic changes in the body, salty sweat will appear on the skin and the consciousness will become clouded, ready to leave the body at any second.
Today we have become literate, we read a lot and know that it is not the otherworldly spirit that is to blame for the malaise. It is the hot rays of the sun that punish the restless, who do not want to hide in the shadows, while the solar chariot makes its day trip across the heavens. Or at least protect your head with a light-colored panama hat, hat or umbrella. Of course, a summer resident weeding a garden bed under a snow-white umbrella with lace will look ridiculous. But today you can become the owner of an umbrella-hat, which will protect your head from the sun, leaving your hands free to work in the garden.
Sunstroke
We all know the cunning of the sun, which strikes the human head with sunstroke. But we are so self-confident, we believe that this will not happen to us. And frivolously we stomp into the garden with our heads uncovered when the sun is hot to the fullest. But in vain. Sunstroke is no joke at some white-clothed afternoon. The people will say: "The head is baked." And they will be right. After all, the brain and central nervous system suffer from sunstroke. The brain cannot overheat in any way, the Creator did not provide any natural protection for such cases. And therefore, the great Russian commander, Alexander Suvorov, taught his charges to keep their heads in the cold, but their feet - in the warmth.
Sunstroke symptoms
In addition to sunstroke, heatstroke can occur. They have the same symptoms. But the consequences of sunstroke are much more dangerous than heat.
* "It will buzz in the head", - said the ancient Slavs, that is, the headache appears first.
* The skin will turn red on the face and sweat will come out on the skin.
* Heartbeat will increase.
* Weakness will spread throughout the body, there may be pulling pains in the muscles.
These symptoms accompany mild sunstroke. After first aid, they go away on their own, without serious health consequences.
* Nausea and vomiting indicate moderate severity of the lesion. There may be a lethargy of a person, or fainting may occur. This condition is especially dangerous for elderly people with diabetes mellitus.
* Severe lesions cause high fever. The patient looks stunned, or, on the contrary, is too agitated. Breathing is difficult. Seizures may occur. Providing first aid, you need to urgently call a doctor.
How to provide first aid to the victim
Immediately you need to take (or transfer) the victim to a shaded area of the cottage. If you do this in a timely manner, then this action alone is often enough to alleviate a person's condition.
Next, you need to give him cold, but not ice water. We put a cold compress on the head, and wrap the body with a wet sheet or a wet large bath towel.
We put the patient on his side to avoid trouble if vomiting suddenly opens.
With such simple actions, you can save a person from the unpleasant consequences of sunstroke.

Rhubarb: Not Tops, Not Roots, But Petioles
While fruit trees and shrubs are just beginning to bloom and form tight ovaries, those who grow rhubarb in their garden harvest thick juicy petioles in May.
