Description of the tanning skumpia

Skumpia tannery is a rather large shrub, endowed with naked long-petiolized leaves. Such leaves do not have stipules; they are oval in shape, peristonerous, obtuse at the apex and entire. From above, the leaves of this plant are painted in dark green tones, and from below, in turn, they are slightly pubescent. It is noteworthy that by the end of the summer period, such leaves will be painted in purple tones. The flowers are greenish-white and gather in terminal panicles.

The flowering of tanning skumpia occurs at the very beginning of the summer period. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the valleys of the Seversky Donets, Dniester and Southern Bug rivers, as well as the Caucasus, the mountains of Crimea and Ukraine. For the growth of skumpia tannery prefers glades, open slopes, forest edges and roadside plantations.

Description of the medicinal properties of leather skumpia

Skumpia leather is endowed with very valuable medicinal properties, while it is recommended to use the leaves of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of essential oil, gallic acid, tannin and flavone glycosides in the leaves of this plant.

It should be noted that gallic acid and tannin are obtained industrially from the raw leaves of this plant. Skumpia leather leaves are used as anti-inflammatory and astringent agents in the form of infusion and tea.

Tannin is used as a wound healing, astringent and anti-inflammatory agent. Outwardly, this useful substance in the form of an ointment is used for cracks, bedsores, burns, ulcers, as well as various inflammatory diseases of the nose, mouth and larynx.

For diarrhea, it is recommended to use the following very effective healing agent based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take one teaspoon of dry crushed leather skumpia leaves for about one full glass of boiling water. The resulting healing mixture should first be left to infuse for about one hour, after which this mixture, based on leather skumpia, must be filtered very carefully. The resulting drug based on this plant is taken three to four times a day before the start of a meal, one tablespoon.

In case of fevers, it is recommended to use the following very effective drug based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take one teaspoon of dry crushed bark of leather skumpia for about two hundred milliliters of boiling water. Then such a medicinal mixture based on this plant should be left to infuse for one hour, after which the mixture must be very thoroughly filtered. Take such a healing agent in a warm form three times a day before the start of a meal, one third or one fourth of a glass for various fevers.

It should be noted that the product of tannins from the leaves of this plant with protein is indicated for use as an anti-inflammatory and astringent agent for various chronic and acute diseases. As a choleretic agent in diseases of the biliary tract and liver, the sum of the flavonoids of the leaves of the leather skumpia is used.
