Eyebright straight is one of the plants of the family called norychnykh, in Latin the name of this plant will sound as follows: Euphrasia stricta D. Wolff ex S. T. Lehm (E. condensata Jurd.).

Description of eyebright straight

Eyebright straight or erect is an annual herb. The stem of this plant is erect, it can be either completely simple or branched in the lower part, and the height of such a stem will fluctuate between one and twenty-five centimeters. This stem will be painted in either purple or reddish tones. The lower leaves of eyebright straight will be blunt and wedge-shaped, they will be endowed with one or two teeth on each side. The middle and upper leaves of this plant are lanceolate, they are very sharp and the greatest width is noted in the middle. At first, the inflorescence of eyebright straight will be quite thick, the flowers are located on short pedicels, the corolla will be small in size, and by the end of flowering its length will be about six to eight millimeters. The upper lip of such a corolla is two-lobed, while the lower lip is three-lobed, the corolla will be whitish with a bluish upper lip. In this case, sometimes the entire corolla can be purple, blue or purple. The capsule of eyebright is straight wedge-shaped-oblong.

The flowering of eyebright straight falls on the period from July to the month of October. Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the middle zone of the European part of Russia, the Caucasus, Belarus and Ukraine. As for the general distribution, this plant can be found in Scandinavia and Central Europe. For the growth of eyebright, the straight line prefers the banks of streams, forest edges in the alpine belt of mountains, grassy, rocky and stony slopes.

Description of the medicinal properties of eyebright straight

Eyebright is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes leaves, stems and flowers.

The presence of such valuable healing properties is recommended to be explained by the content of tannins, aucubin glycoside, essential oil, resins, vitamin C, coumarins, bitter and blue coloring matter in the composition of this plant.

Preparations based on this plant will be endowed with a very effective astringent, antibacterial, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory and moderate sedative effect.

As for traditional medicine, here straight eyebright has become quite widespread. Here, an infusion prepared on the basis of the herb of this plant is recommended to be used for bronchitis, colds, coughs, fever, bronchial asthma, corneal opacity, sore throat, gastritis with increased acidity of gastric juice, for the treatment of eyes with inflammation of the eyelids and gastric ulcer.

An infusion and decoction of the herb of this plant is recommended to be taken for colds, as a tea for fever, and in addition, such remedies are used for childhood eczema and diathesis. To improve hair growth, it is recommended to wash your hair with a decoction prepared on the basis of the herb eyebright straight. Powder of the herb of this plant should be sprinkled on various wounds, and sore eyes should be washed with a decoction of the herb. It should be noted that such funds are very effective and the positive result is noticeable almost immediately.

To prepare the broth, you should take one tablespoon of chopped herbs on top of two cups of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for two hours, and then filtered thoroughly. With bronchitis, the broth is taken four times a day, one third of a glass.
