Ortilia one-sided is one of the plants of the family called Wintergreens, in Latin the name of this plant will sound like this: Orthilia secunda (L.). As for the name of the orthyli family itself, one-sided, then in Latin it will be like this: Pyrolaceae Dumort.

Description of ortilia one-sided

Ortilius one-sided is a perennial herb, endowed with creeping stems. The leaves of this plant can be from oblong-ovate to broad-ovate, they will be endowed with a wedge-shaped base and a short-pointed tip. Such leaves are serrate and are located on rather thin petioles. The one-sided flower stalk is endowed with several scaly leaves. The flowers of this plant will be quite small, they are painted in green tones and are collected in a one-sided drooping brush. The corolla of this plant will be almost bell-shaped, it can be either white or greenish, its length is three and a half to five millimeters, and its width will be about one and a half to two and a half millimeters. The fruit of the lopsided orthylium is an almost spherical box, the length of which will be equal to four to six millimeters.

The flowering of this plant occurs in the first half of the summer period. In natural conditions, one-sided orthylium is found in the territory of Ukraine, Belarus, the European Arctic, Western and Eastern Siberia, as well as in the European part of Russia, with the exception of only the Black Sea, Nizhne-Don and Nizhne-Volzhsky regions. For growth, this plant prefers dry, mixed, deciduous and coniferous forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of one-sided ortilia

Ortilia one-sided is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. Grass includes stems, flowers and leaves.

The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content in the composition of this plant of bitter substances, resins, saponins, coumarins, flavonoids, quinones, phenols and their derivatives, vitamin C, tartaric and citric acid.

As for traditional medicine, here this plant is quite widespread. Orthilia one-sided is used in the treatment of gynecological diseases of an inflammatory nature, with bleeding, infertility, infantility, menstrual irregularities, toxicosis in pregnant women, cervical erosion, as well as fibroids, which will be accompanied by profuse bleeding. Infusions, tinctures and decoctions based on this plant are used as a diuretic for various kidney diseases and cystitis. The decoction, prepared on the basis of the leaves of orthylium one-sided, is used as a wound healing, astringent and hemostatic agent, and is also used after childbirth, for the treatment of purulent wounds, for hemorrhoids and hemoptysis. An infusion based on the leaves of this plant should be drunk with diarrhea.

For all of the above diseases, it is recommended to use the following remedy: for the preparation of such a healing remedy, you should take two tablespoons of crushed herb of Orthilia one-sided for two cups of boiling water. The resulting mixture should be infused for about two hours, after which this mixture is filtered very carefully. Take the resulting healing agent based on this plant three to four times a day, half a glass or one third of it. Provided that all the rules for the preparation of such a healing agent are observed, as well as strict adherence to all the norms of its intake, a fairly quick positive result will be achieved.
