Cinquefoil is an annual, biennial, or even three- and four-year-old plant, endowed with a simple root. The height of the stems of such a plant will fluctuate between fifteen and forty centimeters. Such stems can be either single or in the amount of several pieces, and they are also ascending or spread out. The root and lower stem leaves of Potentilla are low on rather long petioles, and they are also paired. The upper stem leaves of this plant will often be trifoliate and almost sessile, with more or less hairy leaves on both sides. Such stem leaves will be painted in green tones. The flowers of Potentilla low will be rather small. The outer and inner sepals will be endowed with almost the same size. The petals of Potentilla are low colored in yellow tones and are almost equal to the sepals. The stamens of this plant are on short filaments, their number is fifteen to twenty pieces.

Potentilla low bloom falls on the period from June to August. Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of Central Asia, Belarus, Ukraine, Eastern and Western Siberia, as well as in the regions of the European part of Russia, with the exception of only Karelo-Murmansk, Nizhnevolzhsky, Dvinsko-Pechora and Ladoga-Ilmensky. For growth, the plant prefers pastures, places near dwellings and along the edges of roads, river banks, grassy slopes, crops and vegetable gardens. It should be noted that this plant is a very valuable honey plant.

Description of the medicinal properties of Potentilla low

Cinquefoil is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the roots of this plant for medicinal purposes. The presence of such valuable healing properties is explained by the content of tannins, vitamin C and traces of alkaloids in the composition of this plant.

As for Tibetan medicine, a decoction of the roots of this plant is quite widespread. Such a healing agent is used for pulmonary tuberculosis, gastrointestinal diseases, oncological diseases, atherosclerosis, infectious and acute respiratory diseases.

In folk medicine, the aerial part of Potentilla low is used in the form of an infusion or a decoction as a tonic, astringent and antipyretic agent.

For diarrhea, it is recommended to use the following remedy based on this plant: to prepare such a remedy, you will need to take two teaspoons of dry crushed roots of Potentilla low for one glass of water. It is recommended to boil the resulting mixture over a fairly low heat for about two to three minutes. During the night, the resulting broth should be infused, after which it is filtered very carefully. Take the resulting healing agent based on Potentilla low three to four times a day before the start of a meal, one fourth of a glass.

For atherosclerosis, it is recommended to use the following rather effective remedy: to prepare such a remedy, you should take three tablespoons of dry crushed herbs of this plant in two cups of boiling water. The resulting mixture is infused for two hours and filtered. Take such a healing agent based on Potentilla low three to four times a day, one fourth of a glass.
