Let us recall the conditions in which Asters, descending from heaven to the sinful Earth, feel more comfortable, grow strong and hardy, bloom profusely and for a long time, delighting a person with their starry beauty
The best place to land
It would seem that the darkness of the night is better suited for the stars, allowing them to shine brighter in the sky. But, having descended to the ground and assuming the form of a plant, Asters, like most representatives of the plant world, prefer places that are well lit, accessible to sunlight. But even a light shadow does not scare them too much, just as cosmic dust does not scare the stars.
Choosing the right soil
"Stars" can grow on any garden soil created by the Almighty and ennobled by microscopic soil bacteria, worms and tireless human labor. But, if given a choice, they will prefer sandy or loamy soils.
If you add a little humus and lime to such soils, then the asters will only be happy. They will not refuse to reinforce their strength with the help of phosphorus-potassium fertilizers. But fresh manure is alien to the "Queen of Daisies." As they say, it's not a royal thing to be friends with manure.
Aster's relationship with life-giving water
Water, an accomplice in the creation of life on the planet, is required for asters in metered quantities. Growing plants in low-lying areas with excessive soil moisture provokes the frailty and soreness of asters. Ruthless microscopic fungi infect all parts of the herbaceous plant with fusarium, for which "star" is an empty phrase. Fusarium, like the plague, does not spare anyone, striking everything that comes its way.
If the summer turned out to be dry, and the blue skies from day to day give only the sun's rays, forgetting about the moisture-bearing clouds, asters begin to feel thirsty and ask for periodic abundant watering. In order for the moisture to saturate the roots of the plant for a longer time, the next day after abundant watering, do not be too lazy to loosen the soil around the asters, penetrating with the tool to a depth of 4-7 centimeters.
Fertilizing
Man is responsible for those he sowed in his beds and flower beds. After all, plants are creatures that do not suffer from the modern craze with the imported name "shopping". The gardener will have to go to the store to buy ammonium nitrate, potassium salt and superphosphate there.
Having planted asters in open ground, after a couple of weeks, it is advisable to remember them and the purchased fertilizers. Per square meter of plantings, 30-40 grams of superphosphate and ammonium nitrate are required, and a little less potassium salt, about 20-30 grams.
When the asters show their flower buds to the world, we again remember the same fertilizers and apply them to the soil in slightly smaller quantities than the first time, so that the plant has enough strength for abundant flowering. If the plant signals that it does not have enough strength to fully demonstrate its decorative effect, it is worth adding potassium salt at the beginning of flowering, no more than 20 grams per square meter of the flower garden.
Fertilizers are applied to wet soil in a dry form, and then the soil is loosened so that the fertilizers get to the roots of the plant. In case of drought, mineral fertilizing is combined with watering the plant.
Reproduction of "stars" in terrestrial conditions
Nature itself took care of the reproduction of asters, planting in their seeds everything that is necessary for the resumption of life. But you should not keep the seeds on the shelf for more than three years, because, at such a respectable age, they may not please with seedlings. The most suitable seeds for sowing are those that did not have time to celebrate even a year in our world.
Cold-resistant and hardy asters can be sown directly into open ground at any time of the year.“Even in winter?” - will surprise the inexperienced reader. Yes, even in winter, if you prepare a place for sowing in advance.
Those with many wide window sills in their home make their life difficult by growing asters through seedlings. But they can enjoy flowering at the end of June, and not wait for the prolific August.

Annual Aster. Part 5
Any stars in the world are full of envious people who dream of harming their radiance in some way. They weave intrigues, pull out large and insignificant crime from the secluded corners of the star life, trying to "tarnish" the reputation of the star and throw the idol of many people off a convenient pedestal. This fate does not bypass the plants. Many enemies surround the starry aster, trying to erase its presence from the face of the Earth. But the aster has a wise and hardworking defender who seeks to protect her from adversity
Annual Aster. Part 4
The mission of a person to grow asters at their summer cottage does not end with sowing seeds into the soil. In order for the bushes to branch magnificently, the leaves delight with the freshness of the greenery, the inflorescences were bright and abundant, and by the fall the seeds ripened for procreation, the asters need care. These are the usual chores for gardeners that are performed almost automatically
Annual Aster. Part 2
Aster cannot be confused with any other plant, although there are many externally similar flowers in the garden kingdom. It is not for nothing that a French botanist of the 18th century dubbed her "The Queen of Daisies". But queens also have biological traits, which we will try to get to know today
Annual Aster. Part 1
The Creator, tired of improving the planet Earth, decided to settle a person on it so that he would continue his work. At first, man lived by collecting what had already been created. Gradually, learning about the world, discovering its wonders, he took the initiative into his own hands and began to actively transform the already beautiful world. He paid special attention to the delightful world of flowers, including the annual aster, which is also called the "Chinese Astra"
