So, in landscape design (and not only in it), "zoning" is the division of a territory (for example, a summer residence) into functional zones. Let's say there are not as many acres on your site as you would like. Or, as we have already said, you want to (for this small amount of area) place a pond, flower beds, a greenhouse, and much more. Therefore, we propose to divide the territory into certain zones.
The number of mini-plots depends on your desires and imagination. We offer you the most common option. One of the main zones is gardening, household, sports, relaxation (for adults and children).
Garden area
This site should be on the sunny side, and be as open as possible, regardless of the purpose. But it is advisable to plant large trees on the north side. In addition, it is better to organize this area away from recreation areas. It is noteworthy that a vegetable garden plot can perform a decorative function (used for growing flowers, herbs, shrubs, greens). Then arrange it in the lobby area or the local area.
Economic zone
It is customary to place not only a vegetable garden here, but also a garage, a shed, a greenhouse, an outdoor shower. The area of this plot depends on how much and what you are going to grow. The ideal location is the backyard.
Rest area (adult)
This is the place where you meet guests, relax, eat and do other pleasant things. Therefore, terraces, gazebos, pools, benches, patios, benches should be in this area. Traditionally, this area is located in the back or courtyard.
Relax zone (for children)
If the area allows, the children's relaxation zone is also separated. All swings, slides, sandboxes are best equipped separately. Moreover, there should be a canopy and benches. Usually, the children's territory is placed so that it can be seen from the window of the living room or kitchen.
Sports Zone
If you are very fond of sports and have a great desire to train or have an active rest even in the country, then be sure to make such a territory. Make courts for basketball, golf, tennis or even football there. The best place for such a zone is in the backyard.
Where to begin?
First, decide what mini-territories you need. To do this, you can answer the questions: what will you grow? Will you do this? Do you often have guests? Sport … is that so important to you? Does the area allow for all these zones?

How to do? (Practical advice)
Use hedges. Separate each area with neatly trimmed shrubs, flowers, or trees. A beautiful fence made of juniper or boxwood can be made low (30-40 centimeters), but if desired, the natural fence can be higher (1-1.5 meters). But it is best to use barberry, sunflower, dahlias or titonia for tall hedges.
Height difference. Different zones can be done at different levels. For example, lower the pool, but raise the gazebo. Or underestimate the children's area, but overestimate the place for adults.
Paths on the site. Create your own transport network on the site. More precisely, a network of trails and not a transport, but a pedestrian. But still. Show your imagination, because the paths can be made of different materials: multi-colored tiles, gravel, sea chips. Give the track clear geometric outlines, and you no longer have to invent something super difficult to zoning the site.
Combine the same colors of different plants … This solution is suitable for those who have long planned out all the zones and implemented all the ideas at their dacha. But I wanted to bring in something new.
