Characteristics of culture

Pubescent stems and leaves.

The flowers are fragrant, collected in shields, can be pink, white, purple, lilac, mauve. Depending on the variety, they are divided into monophonic and with an eye in the middle. Drummond's phlox blooms in June - September. Fruits are three-nested oval capsules, each nest contains 1-2 seeds. Fruiting is usually abundant. Seeds remain viable for up to 2 years.

Florists classify Drummond's phlox as bright and extraordinary plants, for this reason they are often used to decorate mixborders, flower beds, rock gardens and other types of flower beds. They are also grown in hanging pots. It should be noted that the species in question is absolutely unpretentious, but thermophilic, plants die at temperatures below -5C.

Phlox Drummond is committed to sunny, wind and stagnant water. Wet soils are welcome, waterlogging and dryness can negatively affect the development of culture, in such areas they slow down growth and practically do not bloom.
