Fragrant and sweet pineapple

You will not surprise Russian people with pineapples. They have long taken a firm place on the fruit counters of our country. They even became another symbol of the New Year, since the prices of pineapples are quite affordable for a person with any financial wealth. Here are just those pineapples that you buy in our stores, they have a particularly sharp taste, from which it reduces cheekbones. You can't eat a lot of pineapple like that.

It turns out that real pineapple, ripened in the garden, and not in the bins of fruit storage, is a completely different fruit. Its tender and juicy pulp just melts in the mouth with a sour-sweet unique aroma. True, if you overdo it, then the sharpness will again make itself felt. If you limit yourself to three or five slices, it simply does not work out less, then you feel how blood runs more freely through the arteries, high blood pressure drops to normal, and the stomach requires something meaty from the appetite played out.

Many people compare papaya with melons, because even the tree on which these fruits grow is called the "Melon tree". Although the aroma of papaya is far from the most fragrant honey melons from the countries of Central Asia, our yesterday's allies. And the flesh of the papaya fruit, although tender, but the flesh of a ripe melon is incomparably more tender.

I am not going to belittle the qualities and abilities of the papaya with such comparisons. Those who have the opportunity to eat papaya every day do not have problems with digestion, and therefore they have elastic and firm skin, and they live happier and longer.

Bunches of spherical medium-sized amazing fruits hang on evergreen small trees. The fruit consists of three layers.

The top layer looks more like a nutshell. But, unlike nuts, the pulp of which is not always easy for a person to reach, the shell of a longan breaks easily, as if it were an egg shell, and, falling apart into several pieces, separates from the pulp. Since the shell is colored in different shades of brown and small hilly, the fruits are very similar to quail eggs, only they have a more spherical shape.

Under the shell, a transparent pulp is found, which many compare to grapes. In my opinion, longan flesh is more gelatinous and less aromatic than grapes. But it is quite pleasant to the taste, unobtrusively sweetish. My granddaughter, who is 1 year and 2 months old, liked the pulp. In the literature they write that fruits contain a lot of bioacids, iron, calcium and phosphorus, and, of course, sugar and vitamin "C".

The third layer is a large, relative to the size of the entire fruit, black shiny seed, reminiscent of a black currant berry. We have not tried the seeds.

Chinese folk physicians (and longan came to Thailand from China) say that dry fruits of longan have a soothing effect on the human nervous system. It seems to be true: Thais are a very calm people.

Another fruit growing on an evergreen tree. Differs in an unusual shape, which forms five-pointed, even stars, if the fruit is cut into transverse slices.

The high content of oxalic acid in the fruit makes it an amateur fruit. I didn't like this fruit: it crunches on my teeth like our fresh cucumbers from the garden, but at the same time fills my mouth with a sour taste. It is more suitable for decorating dishes where you don't need to eat it:).

As soon as this fruit of an evergreen tree is not called: mangosteen, mangkut, mangosteen, mangosteen … Fortunately, the taste does not change from the name.

The inside of the fruit is very tender, juicy, sweet and sour, and consists of white cloves that look like garlic cloves. But getting to the edible part of the fruit is not easy. A hard and dense protective shell conscientiously fulfills its function, and therefore, out of habit, while you peel the peel, no, no, and you will cut the delicate flesh to your annoyance.
