Description of the heart-shaped linden

The heart-shaped linden is a rather tall tree, endowed with furrowed dark gray bark and a spreading dense crown. The leaves of this plant will be round-heart-shaped in shape, they are very delicate, and along the edge such leaves are finely toothed. The flowers of this plant are rather small, they gather in a corymbose inflorescence, endowed with a leaf-shaped bracts. The calyx of the heart-shaped linden will be separate and consists of five sepals, the same corolla and quite a lot of long stamens will be fused together in five bunches. The pistil of this plant consists of five carpels, endowed with a five-celled ovary. The fruit of the heart-shaped linden is a nutlet endowed with one or two seeds.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the European part of Russia, but it will not go beyond the Urals, it is also found in the Caucasus, and in Bashkiria it will form continuous forests. Quite often, this plant is bred in parks and alleys as an ornamental tree.

Description of the medicinal properties of the heart-shaped linden

The heart-shaped linden is endowed with very valuable medicinal properties, while for medicinal purposes it is recommended to use the flowers of this plant, the so-called "linden blossom". The presence of such valuable healing properties should be explained by the content of tannins, essential oil, mucus, carbohydrates, saponins, sugars, bitterness, protein, pigments and glycosides in this plant. It should be noted that the dried raw materials of this plant are endowed with a very effective diaphoretic and expectorant effect.

The heart-shaped charcoal obtained from linden is recommended for the preparation of animal charcoal. Such coal is used for intestinal swelling and poisoning.

In everyday life, linden blossom is used in the form of an aqueous infusion or a decoction. Such a healing agent is used as a diaphoretic for coughs in children, colds, bark, mumps, neuralgia, and also in the presence of sand in the gallbladder. Linden flowers are used for rinsing, aromatizing baths, and also for making poultices for gout and articular rheumatism.

The fruit of this plant contains up to thirty percent of the valuable nutritious oil, which tastes very much like almond oil. Oilcakes are used for karming livestock. It should be noted that the heart-shaped linden is also a very valuable honey plant. Linden honey is colorless and fragrant and has very effective medicinal properties.

To prepare a very valuable remedy based on linden cordata, it is recommended to take four tablespoons of linden blossom per one liter of boiling water. It is recommended to place the resulting healing mixture in a thermos, where such a mixture will be stored. Take the resulting remedy on the basis of heart-shaped linden in hot or warm form in a glass once or twice a day.
