Heteropappus (Latin Heteropappus) - a plant from the Astrov family.
Description
Heteropappus is a herb that can be either annual or biennial, or perennial, and the height of its stems depends entirely on the species and ranges from twenty centimeters to one meter.
Where grows
Altai heteropappus can be seen in Mongolia or China, as well as in Central Asia and Western or Eastern Siberia. And the rocky-seaside heteropappus is easy to find in the south of the Far East. The Tatar heteropappus is found in the Far East and Siberia (Eastern or Western), and the bristly-haired heteropappus is found in Mongolia, the Far East, as well as in Korea, China and Japan.
Varieties
The most common type of heteroappus is
Altai heteropappus, which is a herbaceous perennial, the height of which ranges from thirty to sixty centimeters. Quite often, this plant is called the Altai aster. Its protruding-branched stems are endowed with shortening branches in the leaf axils, and its sessile leaves can be both linear-oblong and linear. All of them gradually taper towards the bases, and at the tops the leaves are usually short-pointed or obtuse. Each leaf is pubescent on both sides with thin adjoining hairs and is equipped with many miniature shiny glands. The flowers of this plant are folded into numerous and very beautiful baskets, formed by many corymbose-paniculate inflorescences.
No less interesting and
heteropappus rocky-seaside, the appearance of which is very similar to asters, although these plants have no family ties. True, this plant can be found only in the south of Primorye, on pebbles and rocks located near the sea.
Heteropappus Tatar - herbaceous biennial, the height of which ranges from twenty to forty centimeters. Its single stems are painted in reddish or purple tones, and the linear lower leaves reach from two to six centimeters in length and from two to five millimeters in width. And the leaves located on leafy peduncles are always pointed and narrow.
Heteropappus bristly haired - it is either an annual or a biennial plant, equipped with thin and partially fibrous roots. And the height of its straight, leafy and finely grooved stems ranges from thirty centimeters to one meter. The basal obverse lanceolate leaves are slightly dull at the top and narrow near the bases into graceful winged petioles, the middle leaves can be either obverse lanceolate or linear, and they are also slightly dull at the top and narrowed at the bottom, and the upper leaves of the bristly hairy heteropappus gradually decrease. The flowers are located in graceful baskets sitting on long peduncles, and the fruits of this plant are small compressed achenes.
Beneficial features
Heteropappus has a number of useful properties - decoctions and infusions prepared from it are endowed with pronounced anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties, and this plant also perfectly helps to cope with various diseases of the stomach and respiratory infections. It is also included in the fees that are taken for smallpox or measles. And in Chinese medicine, heteropappus is actively used to treat chronic bronchitis, hemoptysis and impotence in the stronger sex.
