Alder sticky or black is one of the plants of the family called birch, in Latin the name of this plant will sound like this: AInus glutinosa (L.) Gaerth. As for the name of the sticky alder family itself, in Latin it will be like this: Betulaceae S. F. Gray.

Description of gummy alder

Sticky alder or black alder is a tall tree that will differ from alder in gray bark with cracks, painted in dark brown tones, as well as sticky young shoots. In addition, the difference will be blunt and notched at the very top of the leaves and seedlings, located on the legs. It is noteworthy that the length of such leaves will exceed the length of fertile catkins.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found on the territory of the forest-steppe and forest zone of the European part of Russia, as well as the Trans-Urals, the northern half of the Kazakhstan Upland and Ciscaucasia. For growth, sticky alder prefers damp places, river banks and swampy soils, while this plant will form real forests.

Description of the medicinal properties of sticky alder

Glutinous alder is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it should be noted that in medical practice, the fruit of this plant is recommended to be used along with the fruit of sulfur alder. This circumstance should be explained by the fact that alkaloids, tannins and gallic acid were found in the composition of this plant. In addition, sticky alder bark will contain up to about twenty-five percent tannins.

Preparations based on the seed of this plant in the form of either a tincture or a decoction are recommended to be used as a very effective astringent, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory agent for rheumatism, colitis, gout, enterocolitis, acute and chronic enterocolitis. A decoction based on sticky alder should be used to gargle with various colds, and rinse the mouth to strengthen the gums. Preparations based on the seed of this plant will not be endowed with toxicity and will not have a negative effect on the composition of the blood, on the cardiovascular and nervous system.

For colitis, it is recommended to use the following healing agent based on this plant: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take four grams of buds in one glass of water. The resulting healing mixture should be boiled for about eight to ten minutes, then this mixture is left to infuse for one hour, after which it is recommended to strain this healing agent very thoroughly. The resulting healing agent based on sticky or black alder is taken three to four times a day, one third of a glass.

With diarrhea, the following healing agent based on this plant is effective: to prepare such a healing agent, you will need to take one part of the cones of this plant for five parts of forty percent alcohol. This tincture should be taken three times a day, twenty-five to forty drops before the start of a meal.

For diarrhea and dysentery, the following remedy based on sticky alder will be effective: to prepare such a healing remedy, you will need to take thirty grams of crushed bark of this plant in one glass of boiling water. The resulting mixture is infused for two hours, and then filtered very carefully. Take such a healing agent based on sticky alder three to four times a day, one tablespoon. Subject to proper preparation and competent reception, such a curative will turn out to be very effective and a positive result will be noticeable quite quickly.
