Tladiantha (Latin Thladiantha) - a dioecious liana plant belonging to the Pumpkin family and popularly called a red cucumber.

Description

Tladianta is a climbing herbaceous perennial vine, endowed with bizarre protruding hairy stalks. And the whole-edged heart-shaped leaves of this culture look from the outside as if they are covered with felt.

On each underground shoot, as well as on all branches hanging low over the soil surface, funny chains of useful tubers are regularly formed. With the onset of the next spring, each tuber gives new shoots, which in no small measure contributes to the rather rapid spread of red cucumber over the site.

Young tladiant fruits, painted in juicy green shades, have an external resemblance to the well-known common cucumbers. As a rule, their diameter does not exceed two centimeters, and their length is six centimeters. In addition, each tladiana fruit is covered with a pleasant fluff, which disappears after some time. And closer to the very moment of ripening, these vegetables noticeably soften, turn red and acquire a characteristic sweet taste.

Each red cucumber contains a huge amount of tiny seeds. And the tubers of this culture are somewhat reminiscent of potatoes.

Where grows

The Far East is the historical homeland of the bizarre Tladiant. True, in this region, red cucumber is used exclusively as an ornamental plant - it looks especially great on fences. And this culture is actively cultivated in a number of countries in Southeast Asia, as well as in America and some European countries.

Application

In cooking, fruits that have not yet fully ripened (that is, green) are mainly used. It is perfectly acceptable to eat them raw, or they can be subjected to tladian and heat treatment. With the addition of red cucumber, delicious appetizers, hearty side dishes and wonderful salads are prepared. And the high content of sugar in the fruits allows them to be used for making rich jam or preserves, as well as sweet jams. And, finally, this vegetable is often added to preserves and pickles (by analogy with ordinary cucumbers).

Tladianta is an indispensable helper for early healing from a wide variety of ailments of the gastrointestinal tract. Most often it is used in oriental medicine - a decoction of seeds and nodules is not only an excellent diuretic and choleretic agent, but also an excellent medicine that can have an antiscorbutic, astringent and expectorant effect.

In addition, with the help of red cucumber, you can quickly get rid of headaches and even cope with an attack of hypertension. And oriental healers strongly recommend using an infusion of flowers of this graceful plant during flu epidemics.

They can boast of healing properties and potato-like nodules of tladiants - most often with their help they are saved from osteochondrosis and sciatica. It is as easy as shelling pears to do this: the nodules pounded into gruel are applied to the diseased areas in the form of compresses.

It is also widely used for decorative purposes - this delightful vine has long been a magnificent decoration of numerous household plots.

Contraindications

Individual intolerance is perhaps the only contraindication to the use of tladians. It does not hurt to limit the use of red cucumber and diabetics, because it is very rich in sugar.
