Raspberry purple (lat. Rubus phoenicolasius) - a beautiful perennial liana from the Pink family. Other names are wine or Japanese raspberries.
Description
Raspberry purple-fruited is a weaving long perennial liana, endowed with reed-shaped stems that can lengthen by one to three meters per year. The plumose leaves of this culture are formed by three to five separate leaves, and the flowers collected in bizarre inflorescences sit on very thorny stalks. Flowers can form only on shoots that have reached the age of two, and they usually bloom closer to the end of spring.
The diameter of the flowers ranges from six to ten millimeters. Each flower is equipped with a thorny calyx and five pinkish or red petals.
The fruits of this variety of raspberries are quite oblong edible polystyrene, reaching one centimeter in length, very sweet and surprisingly fragrant. Unripe berries are usually red, while fully ripe fruits acquire a characteristic dark purple, and sometimes even black color. At the same time, in one brush, you can often observe both green and finally ripe berries. As a rule, fruits ripen in the second half of summer and early autumn.
Where grows
The homeland of the purple raspberry is considered to be Korea, as well as China and Japan. And now it is actively cultivated as a decorative perennial in a number of North American and European countries.
Application
Berries of such raspberries are eaten fresh, and they also make jelly with jams from them, they often cook compotes and preserves, and even insist wine. And the fillings for pies from them are also excellent.
These fruits contain many vitamins, valuable mineral elements and biologically active substances. In general, their chemical composition is practically similar to that of ordinary raspberries.
Purple raspberries boast excellent antipyretic and powerful diaphoretic effects, as well as the ability to relieve bladder swelling and even induce labor. In addition, it has a urinary and choleretic, hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, antitoxic, appetite-enhancing and antiemetic, as well as a powerful analgesic effect. It is noteworthy that all the beneficial properties of these bright fruits are not lost even as a result of thermal exposure.
An infusion of plant roots is excellent for diarrhea, and the systematic use of these fragrant berries is an excellent prevention of leukemia and no less dangerous anemia. Leaves are also used - they are crushed and applied to areas of the skin attacked by lichen, as well as psoriasis, inflamed acne, etc.

Contraindications for these berries are exactly the same as for ordinary raspberries.
Growing and caring
Purple raspberries are completely undemanding to soils (however, they are extremely partial to moist soils), surprisingly hardy and grows very well in mid-latitudes, which are characterized by a temperate climate. Best of all, it will bear fruit in well-lit areas closed from drafts and strong winds.
When grown in northern regions, this crop must be covered by bending its stems to the ground.
Reproduction of this culture occurs by layers or seeds rooting into the soil. Do not forget that it is characterized by a very aggressive distribution and the ability to drown out other vegetation. The ability of this plant to reproduce vegetatively has turned it in a number of areas into a real attack for agriculture and horticulture.
