Traffic regulations require a first aid kit in every vehicle, as a car is a potentially dangerous vehicle. However, there are no rules for dachas, and there are no less dangers in dachas and personal plots, and you need to be prepared for them
If you knew where you fall - you would spread straws
We have known this proverb since childhood, but we can find out the most traumatic places and still we can prepare. At the beginning of the summer season, it is recommended to fill the first-aid kits, and for this we need to decide what should be in it. Very often, going to the dacha, the head is full of thoughts about seeds, about watering, whether the paint is cracked, whether the paths are overgrown … Hands fall off the bags, the rake sticks out behind the back and … the first-aid kit is unlikely to be in the middle of all this.
What should be in a first aid kit?
First of all, it should be drugs for chronic diseases, especially if the trip to the country is not limited to one day. If the family has allergies - antihistamines, hypertensive patients - hypertensive drugs, heart - cardiovascular drugs, and especially insulin for diabetics. In general, all drugs that are prescribed by doctors and are used on an ongoing basis or in cases of exacerbation of the disease.
The second drug that will go to the medicine cabinet will be a repellent. Preparations for mosquitoes, ticks, mosquitoes, flies. These can be sprays, bracelets, creams, steaming coils, or indoor fumigators. Don't underestimate insect bites. This is not a momentary pain and inconvenience, insects carry parasites and the lesser evil is the larvae under the skin, the worst is encephalitis carried by ticks.
Antihistamines or anti-allergic drugs. They can be in the form of tablets, ointments, injection solutions. Considering that we are talking about a summer residence, tablets are suitable for us (not everyone knows how to do injections, and ointments need to be stored in stable temperature conditions, not all summer cottages have an electricity connection, refrigerators, etc.). These drugs will help remove swelling from insect bites (if repellents fail), reduce redness and itching from grass, thorns, etc., and help with food allergies.
Dressings and antiseptics. Remember one rule: there are never enough bandages! The bandages do not sour, do not deteriorate, they can always be returned to the home first-aid kit, and next spring they can be taken back to the dacha … Better if they are not useful than they will not be at the right time. Working in the garden with a rake and glanders, work on the construction and repair of the summer cottage, children's games in the garden, alas, sometimes end in injuries. The minimum set of antiseptics: alcohol, hydrogen peroxide will help disinfect a small wound or allow the injured person to be safely taken to the first-aid post. The same is with bandages: bandage small wounds to avoid secondary infection, or fix the injured limb, close the wound, stop bleeding for further transportation to specialists.
First aid
Sunstroke or heatstroke is not uncommon for gardeners. First aid for mild degrees of overheating is drinking plenty of fluids and being in a cool room. More complex cases with thermal skin burns, fainting and seizures require medical supervision. Therefore, in the first-aid kit, one package of "Regidron" will be enough to restore water exchange in the body in mild cases. Also, with mild degrees of overheating, you can use glucose-saline solution (1 liter of water + 2 tablespoons sugar + 0.5 tsp salt).
Poisoning. In case of food poisoning, you should immediately contact a specialist! But the first aid can be the same package of "Regidron" to prevent dehydration.
And the best treatment is prevention! Do not forget about the rules of safe stay in the sun, avoid traumatic manipulations, use of faulty equipment, explain to children the rules of safe behavior in the country.
Enjoy your rest and less weeds in the beds!
