Growing irgi

Irga is a unique plant. It can be considered both a shrub and a tree. Although most often the growth of irgi still resembles the first option. Also, the versatility of the irgi lies in the fact that it combines two functions at once - it bears fruits in the form of delicious berries and charmingly decorates the garden

Planting an irga is as easy as caring for it in the future. Even novice gardeners can easily try their hand at providing irga care. This crop is recommended to be planted in places where there is a harsh climate, and many plants die in the winter.

The most beautiful appearance of the irgi is seen in the spring season. The crown of the shrub at this moment is covered with green leaves in combination with fluffy silvery-white or whitish-pink inflorescences. They have a racemose shape, due to which they have even greater beauty. The aroma of irgi during the flowering period is very pleasant and interesting. He also attracts bees to culture during this period. However, most often the cultivation of irgi in the garden occurs precisely for obtaining fruits. Irgi berries look like tiny apples (ten millimeters in diameter). The color of the fruit is gray-black or purple. In temperate climates, fruit ripening is not uniform at all. This phase can occur from the end of the first summer month and throughout July. Thus, the berries of the irgi become the first fruits that appear on the site. But not only this is appreciated by summer residents and gardeners. Irgi apples also have healing properties, since they contain a lot of vitamins and useful microelements. The sweet taste allows you to nourish the human body during the winter season. Irgi berries are often dried, after which they begin to taste like raisins. Sometimes homemade wine drinks are made from irgi.

Reproduction of irgi

Like many other plants, irga has four main methods of reproduction - by division, seeds, cuttings or layering. A very rapid and high-quality development is observed in young seedlings that were grown from seeds. The division process is only suitable if the bush is already mature and fully formed. But he shouldn't be too old either. You can get a standard type of shrub by grafting cuttings into the stock. Irga is propagated by bends most often, since this method is the simplest and most convenient. As a planting material, it is recommended to use two- or three-year-old seedlings, which have already formed and formed a root system. True, these same seedlings were grown from seeds.

The process of growing irgi from seeds

Among all other breeding and planting methods, growing irgi from seeds is the best and most effective option. It is very easy to get irgi seeds - you can either buy them in specialized stores, or collect them on your own. Planting material is obtained naturally from ripe fruits. But you do not need to dry them - on the contrary, you should mix the grains with the ground and put them in a cool and shaded place (basement, balcony, etc.). Before planting the plant itself, you must carefully prepare the seeds. For these purposes, in order to create good germination, you need to put the planting material between a pair of cotton wool disks, which must first be moistened with water or hydrogen peroxide. In this form, the seed discs should be placed in a plastic bag and placed in a cold and dark place for four months. This time is enough for the seeds to wake up.

In the spring season, planting material should be planted in miniature greenhouses. The distance between the pits should be at least twenty centimeters. The first shoots can be observed after two to three weeks. Another type of seed stratification can be carried out. In the autumn season, seeds must be sown for this in specially fertilized beds before the process. In them, you need to make tracks with a depth of two centimeters. Then the seeds must be sprinkled with sand, and then poured with a large volume of water. In the spring, you will see the first shoots.

Growing irgi using cuttings

Another easy way to grow and propagate is to use cuttings. In the fall, these elements need to be cut off from last year's growth. Until the spring season, you need to dig in the cuttings with earth or sand and store it like that all winter. The stock should be selected in the spring season. For these purposes, as a rule, two-year-old rowan bushes are used. The plants need to be dug up, the roots washed with a large volume of water and cuts in the trunks should be made. The lower part of the irrigated cutting should be formed using a 4 cm wedge and then inserted into the rootstock incision.
