Spring is just around the corner, which means it's time to think about what we will plant in the garden and in the flower beds. In addition, fresh seeds have appeared on the market, new and interesting varieties and varieties have been added, but, despite the current variety of flowers, many prefer petunias
Yes, this person is very capricious when growing seedlings, but at the same time it grows well on almost any soil, looks great in a composition, with its help it is very easy to arrange any vertical flower bed. In addition, it tolerates short-term drought quite easily, which makes it indispensable for pot gardening (when planting a plant in pots or flowerpots).
But sometimes it happens: you look at a picture with seeds, there is a lush beautiful bush with many buds, and there seems to be a good plant in the flowerbed, but it lacks splendor, and I would add buds. It turns out that this is not difficult to do, it is enough to pinch our petunia in time and it will delight you with the splendor of the bush and large flowers. What happens as a result of pinching? The growth of the main shoot is suspended, and lateral shoots begin to gain strength from it, that is, as a result, instead of one shoot and buds, we will have several equally strong and beautiful shoots with buds. Thus, both the volume of the bush and the number of peduncles will increase. Petunia looks healthy, lush and beautiful. And it also increases the duration of flowering.
The first time the operation of pinching the petunia is carried out in the early period, when the petunia grows on the windowsill, waiting for planting in the open ground. Pinching is carried out when 6-7 main leaves appear on the plant, not earlier. Count four to five main leaves from the bottom of the stem and carefully remove everything above the fourth or fifth leaf by pinching. Then continue to care for the petunia as usual: water, feed and highlight as needed. Removing the top of the plant will awaken the lateral buds and new sprouts will emerge from them. By the way, you need to pinch both ordinary and ampelous petunias.
The second time the operation is carried out after the seedlings are planted in open ground and take root there. In no case do not pinching during the period of adaptation of the plant to new conditions, as you can destroy the flower and get a weak and painful plant.
After the petunia "began" in a new place and began to actively grow, you can re-pinch. To do this, select the longest (two or three) shoot, count the same 4-5 leaves from the growth point and carry out the operation in the same way as for the first time. We leave the plant alone and let it grow, after which you will need to pinch some shoots again. Although, if you are satisfied with the size of the bush, you can do with two pinching. But I still recommend carrying out this procedure for the third time.
For the third time we "operate" our flowers, when they recover enough and grow after the previous operation, this is in a week or two. We select several long lateral processes (6-7 pieces) and shorten them according to the previously described scheme. You can no longer return to pinching, three times is enough to get a beautiful plant.
In addition, it is not at all necessary to throw out remote shoots, you can put them in water, wait for the roots to appear - and plant them in a flower bed. This will increase the number of plants. The only thing that a beginner will bloom much later than other plants, but given that petunias bloom until the very frost, this is not scary. Please note that when planting a shoot in open ground, it will be necessary to remove all leaves, except for a couple of the top ones.
By the way, please note that pinching (even the one that is carried out for the first time) delays the flowering time of petunias. On average, the flowering shifts by two to three weeks (this is taking into account all three pinching), but the plant blooms more abundantly, and the flower stalks themselves are much larger than those of the brethren who avoided this operation.

Lush Broom Bush
The bush called "Broom" has nothing to do with the "bush bush over the river" sung in a touching song. They belong to different botanical families and have different habits. The moth flowers of the Broom flutter in a dense "swarm" on the branches, almost hiding the small trifoliate leaves from the eyes. Cunningly arranged flowers attract the attention of beneficial insects, and sharp thorns on the branches prevent its enemies from reaching the plant
