All shops are required to check the watermelons and obtain a certificate of conformity. But not all stores are ready to take a large number of watermelons for sale, so the choice there is not always pleasing to the eye. But this is not a problem, you can buy at street points, the main thing is to know what to look for.

So, you still decided to buy a watermelon on the street. What should you pay attention to? Why are nitrates dangerous? Concentrations above the maximum permissible norm can lead to severe poisoning and intoxication of the body, up to and including death. Keep in mind that these substances accumulate unevenly in a watermelon, most of them are under the rind, and least of all in the middle. Therefore, do not force your child to eat the red flesh to the crust, this will reduce the likelihood of watermelon poisoning.

Now let's figure out how to determine the ripeness of a watermelon. Many vendors cut or cut a piece of watermelon to show the ripeness of the berry.
