Recently, we have all begun to try to take more care of our health and the health of our loved ones and reduce the use of chemicals to a reasonably possible level in order to get environmentally friendly products that are not scary to give even to the smallest family members. Therefore, we often resort to folk remedies: various herbal infusions, compost, home first-aid kit items. But do not forget about kitchen helpers: garlic, mustard, salt, sugar and kefir - after all, they are also wonderful helpers in the beds

Salt

With the help of salt, you can increase the yield of beets and accelerate the ripening of the fruits of tomato bushes affected by late blight. How to do it? Let's start with beets. In general, beets are very fond of salty soils and grows well on them. If you need to "clean" the area of salt, then plant beets there.

Let's get back to the topic. If the beets are growing slowly, the roots are developing slowly, medium-sized, then water with salt. Dissolve 40-50 grams of salt in a ten-liter bucket of water, then make small grooves along the row of beets at a distance of about 10 centimeters from the root crops, then pour the solution into this groove. In general, it is advisable to carry out this operation at the beginning of summer, at a time when the beets will have only 8-9 leaves. But you can also later.

In addition, salt is an excellent helper for fruit production if plants are affected by late blight. It does not heal the leaves, but it does not allow crop loss. We prepare a strong salt solution: dissolve 100 g of salt in a liter of water, then thoroughly spray the whole plants, both leaves and fruits with the resulting strong solution. After such treatment, the leaves will begin to turn yellow and crumble, the growth of the bushes will stop. But tomatoes will ripen faster. In addition, they will be protected by a thin salt film from further spread of infection.

Garlic

In order not to carry out the above operation to save fruits from late blight, take care of prevention. Prepare a fresh infusion of garlic in a proportion of 50 grams per bucket of water, then treat tomato bushes with it. This simple operation will prevent late blight infection.

In addition, with the help of garlic, you can increase the yield of potatoes. Before planting potatoes, soak them for 8 hours in a solution of garlic, which you cook in proportion to a bucket of water - 1 kilogram of chopped garlic. With this operation you will “kill two birds with one stone”: you will disinfect the seeds and stimulate their growth. Such a simple operation will allow you to increase your future harvest by more than a third.

Kefir

Often we have half-drunk kefir in our refrigerator, sometimes even with an expired date. Do not rush to throw it away, it will come in handy on the site. Just let it ferment. Fermented kefir is dissolved in a bucket of water (kefir needs 1 liter) and tomatoes are treated with it to prevent late blight.

Sugar

Sugar syrup is an excellent helper in the fight against cabbage butterflies. Boil a thick syrup, pour it into saucers, add a little dry yeast to each, then put the prepared mixture on high stands in the aisles. The smell will attract butterflies, which sit on the syrup and then simply cannot take off.

Mustard

In this damp, cool summer, they enjoy life and actively breed one of the worst enemies of any summer resident - slugs. They spoil leaves and berries. But on fruits and leaves, they usually harm in the evening and at night, and during the day they hide somewhere in cool, damp places, for example, under boards, pebbles, and so on. Examine the area carefully, find the place where the slugs accumulate and sprinkle it with mustard powder. Slugs really don't like this.

Thus, with the help of kitchen helpers, which are in every home, you can get rid of some pests and increase the yield.
