Belena tiny is one of the plants from the family called nightshade. In Latin, the name of this plant sounds like this: Hyoscyamus pusillus L.

Description of henbane tiny

Tiny henbane is an annual herb that is endowed with a woody root, which will have very few very thin branches. The stem of the plant is straight, and at the very base it will be protruding, while the height of the stem fluctuates between six and thirty-five centimeters. The stem will be quite sticky due to the presence of short glandular hairs. Also, the stem is slightly shrunk and with long tangled hairs, however, sometimes it is almost completely naked. However, most often the stem from the base will be flowering, and at the base it is branched.

The leaves of henbane are tiny, very thin, soft, and in color they are bright green, on both sides the leaves of the plant are glandular, along the veins or along the edge of the leaves are endowed with longer hairs, which taper towards the petiole. Those stem leaves that converge into a basal rosette are lanceolate or rhombic-lanceolate, and can also be oblong-lanceolate.

As for the bracts, the lower ones are very reminiscent of the stem ones, but the upper ones will already be much wider than such leaves. The tiny henbane flowers will be either sessile or lower on thick pedicels. The corolla of these flowers on the outside is naked or supplemented with sparse hairs; this corolla is yellow in color with a very peculiar pharynx of dark purple color. The henbane stamens are tiny, much shorter than the limb, endowed with purple hairy filaments that attach at the top of the tube. The tiny henbane fruit is a box endowed with a weakly convex lid. The seeds of the plant are painted in brownish-gray tones, they are cellular-wrinkled, endowed with rather small flat cells, which, in turn, are separated by means of dense winding and coarse-tuberous partitions, however, such partitions can also be wrinkled-tuberous.

Tiny henbane blooms in the period from April to June. This plant in natural conditions is found in the Lower Volga region of the European part of Russia, as well as in the territory of Western Siberia, namely in the south of the Irtysh region, in addition to this, tiny henbane can also be seen in Central Asia, and even in the Caucasus. As for the general growing area of tiny henbane, the plant is found in Egypt, China, Iran, Arabia, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Kurdistan, Armenia and Afghanistan.
