Ageratoid aster is a perennial plant with a rather beveled rhizome, while thickened and possessing rather dense thin fibrous roots.
In height, the stem of an ageratoid aster can even reach one meter, at the bottom this stem is smooth, in diameter the stem reaches three to four millimeters, at the top the stem is relatively branched. By the time of flowering, both basal and lower leaves are falling off, while the average stem leaves of this plant are oblong-lanceolate, their length is about ten to twelve centimeters, and their width is about three to six centimeters. The leaf blade is papery, thin, on top this plate is green in color and also rough, while the bottom plate of the leaves is lighter in color and smoother, and the plate also has three veins. The upper leaves of the aster are ageratoid lanceolate and decreasing, while the uppermost leaves of the plant are small, their length will be a maximum of about five millimeters.
At the same time, the baskets of the plant are located in a rather complex shield on straight and rough pedicels, the length of which will be about twelve to thirty millimeters in length. The wrapper of the baskets is bell-shaped, its leaves will be three-row, while the top of the leaves is dark purple in color. The outer leaves reach two millimeters in length, while the corolla of ray flowers reaches about ten to eleven millimeters in length, while the width is two millimeters. The ray flowers are blue in color, and the disc flowers themselves are yellow and small, in length they will reach about one and a half to two millimeters. At the same time, the achene reaches only two millimeters in length, on the sides this achene is flat, and its crest itself is brownish-purple in color.
It is worth noting that the flowering of this plant begins around August and lasts until October. In nature, ageratoid aster spreads in the Far East, in Primorye and in the Amur region. Under natural conditions, this plant grows on dry slopes.
The healing properties of the ageratoid aster
It is worth noting that the herb of aster ageratoid is used for medicinal purposes, namely its stems, leaves and flowers. In addition, flower baskets themselves are sometimes used. Flavonoids, saponins and essential oil have been found in the herb of ageratoid aster. Actually, the presence of such elements explains the medicinal properties of this plant.
If we consider Chinese medicine, then infusions and decoctions of the herb aster ageratoid are used to treat cough, malaria, and various bleeding. In addition, infusions and decoctions are also used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, stomach colic. It is noteworthy that in India this plant is used as an antiseptic.
You can prepare the following medicine: take a little more than one teaspoon of dry flower baskets at the rate of one glass of boiling water. This infusion should be insisted and filtered. For various gastrointestinal diseases, for gastritis, for stomach and duodenal ulcers, the resulting infusion should be taken one tablespoon about four times a day.
For coughs, bleeding and malaria, the following decoction is recommended: a little more than two tablespoons of chopped dry grass are boiled in half a liter of water, then the decoction should be allowed to brew for one hour.
