Transportation of a dog to the country - in the summer it seems impossible to keep your beloved pet indoors. However, in order for the move to the dacha to be joyful not only for you, but also for the dog itself, you should follow some rules.

Why is it worth taking the dog to the dacha?

For dogs, living in an apartment in any case seems to be a kind of forced confinement, no matter how you look after your pet. Dogs that live in apartments even change their behavior when they first get to the dacha: they have new habits, they bark differently, and even their gait seems completely different. Only at the dacha does any dog get the opportunity to truly reveal his character. Many animals begin to dig holes and protect their owners from possible dangers.

How to choose a dog?

Many people take a responsible approach to the choice of a pet, not only according to their aesthetic preferences, but also based on the possible nature of the future pet. Of course, any breed has special features. However, it is the appearance of the dog or even the fashion that is often the decisive parameters when choosing. For example, now very popular small dogs, most often, Yorkshire terriers play their role.

However, if you choose a pet in this way, then in the future you will surely expect surprises, both pleasant and not so. Greyhounds can have an aggressive character and can run away when walking, and even return with trophies in the form of neighboring cats. A dachshund in the country will search through all the beds, hoping to find moles or mice. But the Caucasian Shepherd Dog will guard your children, but playing with them is definitely not in its nature. As for the Spitz, this breed is particularly playful.

Therefore, before deciding on the choice of a dog, you should carefully read all the information about this breed. In this case, the risk of surprises when traveling with pets to the country will be minimized.

How to prepare for the dog's move to the dacha?

It is imperative to prepare in advance for the dog's first trip to the country house. If the dog was not vaccinated on time, then this should be done urgently before going to the country. The first vaccination is usually given when the animal is two months old. The dog must be vaccinated against distemper, enteritis, rabies and hepatitis. If the animal had worms, then this problem should also be eliminated even before the trip to nature.

It is imperative to treat the dog with tick and flea remedies. These funds should be purchased only in specialized stores, so there is less risk of buying a fake or a low-quality drug. In addition, here you can consult with specialists.

You can transport your dog in a special container, some of them are called transports, and some look like special hammocks. The animal must not be fed before traveling in the car, because the dog is not able to carefully control its instincts. You can try to take your pet for short walks by car: so the animal will get used to being in the car even before a long trip to the country.

On the way, the dog should definitely be given water, but food should not be given. If your dog is a dwarf breed, then it will need a constant supply of cool and fresh air. For example, for this purpose, you can turn on the air conditioner in the car.

When the weather is very hot, the dog should not be left in a hot car for a long time. It is recommended to make at least small stops every half hour and release the animal into the wild, where it will be a little cooler. If the dog stays in the car for a long time in the sun, then it may even have a sunstroke. In dogs, this is characterized as follows: breathing quickens, the eyes turn white or, on the contrary, bloodshot, the pulse becomes weak, and the animal itself begins to behave very sluggishly. When such alarming signs appear, the animal should be transferred to the shade, wrapped in something wet, and the pads on the paws should be cooled. The windows in the car must not be wide open, otherwise the dog may try to jump out.
