Animals in the country - many gardeners take to the country not only their pets, but also breed other animals in their country houses.
Many people are engaged in breeding animals not only based on their desires, but also taking into account their own benefits. All those who breed animals know that all the work is sure to pay off in multiples. Nevertheless, before deciding on such a serious step as breeding animals in a summer cottage for the first time, you should familiarize yourself with certain rules.
First of all, it should be borne in mind that initially not all plots can be used for this purpose. Also, animals should not interfere with neighbors in any way.
Rules for breeding animals in the country
So, it is worth deciding what is meant by animals at their summer cottage. This does not include pets such as cats and dogs. By such animals, we mean members of the so-called livestock group, which includes goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, poultry and other small livestock. However, even for cats and dogs, there may be special restrictions on keeping in the country, but such restrictions will not turn out to be too excessive.
Having decided to start breeding animals, you should study the content of the charters of summer cottages and horticultural associations. It is worth noting that so far the corresponding law on this topic has not been adopted. It is for this reason that you should find out what they think about this in your territories.
Most often, such statutes contain approximately the same rules for keeping animals. The necessity is the strict observance of sanitary, hygienic and veterinary rules both for keeping animals and for the timely elimination of their diseases. Keeping animals should not interfere with the safety of other people and disturb public order. If there is a death of animals or there are suspicions of serious diseases, then you should immediately contact the veterinary institutions: before the specialists arrive, the animal should be completely isolated. Animals should not graze uncontrollably in any public area, from highways to regular streets. Animal owners are obliged to comply with all the instructions of the state sanitary-epidemiological and veterinary supervision authorities.
Most often, ordinary summer residents are allowed to keep forty birds, twenty rabbits, one cow and one pig or goat on their site. It should be borne in mind that only one position can be selected from such a list. If it is planned to keep a larger number of animals, then the site must be registered as a farm. However, such a process will be quite difficult and will take a long time, for which you need to prepare in advance.
If the animals cause any harm to people, then the owners will be solely responsible for this. And in case of any violations of the rules for keeping animals, neighbors can express their demands even in court.
Where to keep animals?
To keep animals in the country will require the construction of special premises. Depending on the size of the animals, the dimensions of such structures are calculated. Moreover, such a building must necessarily be removed at least twenty meters from the fences. Other premises in the summer cottage should also be given special attention: we are talking about a toilet, shower, bath or well. There are special requirements for the well, under which animals will not be able to fall into it. The ideal solution would be to fence the well so that animals cannot get close to it. In addition, such a structure must necessarily be covered with a lid. As for the toilet, it should be at least eight meters away from the well or any water supply wells. If the depth of the groundwater is less than two meters, then only a dry closet should be used here.
Of course, keeping pets requires special attention and a thorough approach. However, all your efforts will definitely pay off.
