We will restore the roof

The mass is diluted with a liquid: water + PVA 1: 1. You should get a creamy thick mixture. The problem area on the slate is pre-primed (PVA + water 1: 3). Then the prepared mixture is applied. It is required to create several layers.

When replacing the slate, after removing the old sheets, lay a new roofing material (any waterproofing). The sheets are fixed with an overlap. Large areas are covered diagonally from the bottom corner to provide wave geometry when docked. Nails only break into the comb.

How to make an extension to the house

The area of the house can be increased, it is not difficult and it is not necessary to invite specialists. The easiest way is to make a veranda (closed type) or an open terrace. For this, in any case, you need a foundation. You can do without it if you want to get an open area in front of the house with a roof installed on concrete or brick columns (under them there is a point foundation). Instead of doors, a stone, brick, concrete arch is made.

Any material is suitable for an extension: foam concrete blocks, logs, beams, street lining, blockhouse. The presence of walls obliges to harmoniously combine the material with the main building.

Large balcony frames or ordinary window frames are used rationally. The old ones that remained after the renovation of a city apartment are quite suitable. In this case, an alternation of window sizes is done. Fixed frames are combined with opening ones, partitions / racks between them are made of different widths. The roof is usually erected with a pitched roof. The roof must be selected in unison with the one installed on the house or maintain the color scheme by creating from light materials, ondulin, soft tiles, and polycarbonate is ideal for open terraces.

An extension always depends on the general appearance of the house, its proportions, therefore it should not cause dissonance, fall out of the general picture, and look detached. The functionality can be different: a summer kitchen, a gathering place, an additional room, etc.

Redevelopment of an old house

It is not difficult to change living conditions according to your canons. The minimum cost will be low when using the available materials, i.e. change the area of rooms by transferring old walls from place to place.

What can be done? Let's consider the possible options. From a spacious former veranda, you can make a small room and an entrance hall by installing two partitions. By isolating a part of the first floor, you can get a place for a bathroom and a heating system - it is enough to reduce the room with a staircase to the second floor. Having redone the walls in the hallway, you can organize a small vestibule with hangers for everyday clothes and a place for placing small inventory. A space of a meter length with a width of 1.2 m will be functional.

It is enough to make rooms for family members 8 m2, it is important that each has a window. If the wall of the house is wide (6-7 meters), then it is reasonable to organize two rooms, and between them there will be a toilet, pantry or dressing room.

Repair of external walls

The exterior of the house usually needs updating. Repair of the facade of the old building must be carried out in accordance with the source material and previously applied technologies. If there is a financial base, there is an alternative - to radically change the look and create a new cladding. In this case, an additional layer of heat and waterproofing is always made. The budget option is vinyl siding.

In any case, the wooden walls must first be cleaned of old paint and treated with special compounds, impregnations, and then proceed to finishing.

Interior renovation of an old wooden house

The comfort of staying in the country depends on the condition of the premises inside the house. Not wanting to spend money on lining the walls with clapboard, you can glue the wallpaper. Better to use non-woven or vinyl. Such wallpapers perfectly hide irregularities, internal joints and other wall defects. If you have certain skills, colored decorative plaster is used.

On rotten places in the wooden floor, partial replacement of problem areas is carried out. If the surface is flat, they can be painted or covered with fiberboard, or linoleum can be laid on top.
