Today we will take a "tour" of popular types of finishing materials, tell you about the practical aspects, construction technologies and help you make the right choice

What you need to know before starting finishing work

If the house is new, then you need to wait with the facade decor until the structure settles, otherwise cracks and distortions may appear. The old building also has its own nuances: heavy cladding can adversely affect in the form of excessive load on the foundation. When building housing, you always need to decide in advance what you plan to finish and prepare the appropriate foundation. All external work involves the use of wear-resistant materials, improving the appearance of the walls. When choosing, you need to compare how in the end the house will harmonize with the rest of the buildings and the fence.

Plaster

Time-tested method based on cement with additives. You can choose from insulated, silicone and acrylic options. Using any type you get a flat surface, a homogeneous structure, insulation and wall strengthening. Before work, for strength, any surface is reinforced with a mesh. Today, plaster "bark beetle" is in vogue, which is applied in the usual way, there is another popular type: "under a fur coat" - it is obtained as a result of spraying the solution through a special sieve.

Siding

For ventilated facades, vinyl siding is considered the most versatile coating. The high popularity is due to its economy, attractive appearance, durability, fire safety, ease of installation, and a wide range of shades.

Siding finishing consists in the phased fastening of the strips along the guides, which are mounted on a vapor-permeable film. The work does not require special skill and is available for independent execution. The material is lightweight, does not strengthen or insulate the walls, only decorates, If desired, before upholstery, you can additionally insulate. Vinyl siding is susceptible to deformation, it is afraid of mechanical stress.

Fake diamond

A young product of the construction market is an artificial stone, almost outwardly indistinguishable from natural. It is characterized by an affordable price, ease of installation and a range of decorative possibilities. Technical characteristics of the composition: cement, urea or acrylic resins, dyes, polymer concrete.

Covering with artificial stone strengthens the walls, increases noise insulation, does not deform, and is much more practical than siding in operation. It is produced in the form of tiles, the sizes are different, the thickness is 1-2 cm. There are options that imitate cobblestone, in this case the volume of the layer can reach up to 10 cm.

Stone chips

A mass of small natural stones, bound with a special adhesive material, is called stone chips. Prepared on the basis of marble, granite, quartz. Thanks to the rich spectrum of colors, it allows you to combine shades and create a unique design.

It is applied to any surface (aerated concrete, plaster, drywall, brick, concrete). The material is vapor permeable, resistant to ultraviolet light, mechanical stress, durable, does not react to temperature contrast.

Wooden lining

The natural environmental friendliness of wood cannot be compared with any material, but the complexity of installation and fragility have become the reason for the displacement of this coating from practice. The lining is made of ash, pine, linden, alder, oak, beech. When cladding, it hides construction irregularities, creates a beautiful wall relief, allows the house to "breathe" and does not emit toxins. The board is made by the “thorn-groove” method, the thickness reaches 16 mm. After installation, it requires special treatment with a further frequency of preventive maintenance in 4-5 years.

Block house

It is a type of lining, but thicker, since it has a convex surface on one side, after installation, the wall looks like a log house. Compared to ordinary lining, it is more durable, since it is industrially treated with antiseptic resins, is resistant to ultraviolet light, does not react to temperature fluctuations, has an acceptable price, and does not emit toxins. An oak block house will be the most practical solution and will last for several decades.
