Memo to the gardener

It is on such garden crops that I would like to draw the attention of the gardener and remind him of some of the subtleties of caring for them, so that flowers and ornamental garden plants will delight every season with their blooming and healthy look

Gladioli

As a top dressing for plant growth, the following compositions are used:

• under the second leaf of the plant - one spoonful of urea, one and a half tablespoons of potassium sulfate in a bucket of water - spray the plant to form a root system;

• for the third and fourth leaves, spray with the same fertilizer as above, also separately apply two grams of boric acid for each bucket of water;

• on the fifth or sixth leaf, use a mixture of fertilizers in the form of a spoonful of urea, two tablespoons of potassium sulfate and half a spoonful of superphosphate in a bucket of water.

During the flowering period, gladiolus is fed with two tablespoons of nitrophoska and two pinches of boric acid, dissolved in a bucket of water. It is better to feed the plant once a week during watering.

For the prevention of diseases and pests, use an infusion of garlic and water (for every ten liters of water, one hundred grams of garlic), or substances such as actellik, karbofos and others.

It is best to use needles as mulch, but you need to sprinkle it in parts, not immediately a large volume, but as the earth warms up. Nasturtium and marigolds are planted around the flower garden with gladioli to protect the delicate plant from pests.

Irises

As a top dressing of garden flowers, nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium are used in early spring. Take everything in equal parts. When a bud is formed, half a part of nitrogen is taken, one part of phosphorus and three parts of potassium. A month after flowering, irises are fed only with phosphorus and potassium in equal parts.

Actinidia

Do not loosen them, but sprinkle them lightly with humus. Fertilize in early spring with mineral fertilizer, and in late autumn use ash, potassium sulfate for this.

In the spring, you should not cut off the beauty! Actinidia will "cry", exuding juice abundantly, and may not recover after such a procedure. Protect her from the "attack" of cats who are actively interested in actinidia. In hot weather, water abundantly, but only in the evening, pouring water onto the trunk and sprinkling the crown of the plant.

Clematis

For planting them, the soil must be loamy, fertile and loose, with good moisture permeability.

At the bottom of the planting hole (it should be quite deep, about 60 by 60 by 60 cm), you need to put rubble or other material to improve drainage at the roots. You also need to add humus, superphosphate (100 grams) and 150 grams of lime to the pit.

After rain, the lower part of the plant should be powdered with ash so that it does not wither.

Tree hydrangea

In early spring, feed the plant with flower kemira. After they are fed only when the bud is ripe: with phosphorus and potassium.

Hydrangea loves watering it with whey from milk, kefir, sour bread crusts and crumb.

In the spring against diseases, hydrangea should be watered two to three times with a weak solution of manganese. Potassium permanganate is poured not only at the root, but also poured over the entire bush.

Until four years old, the bush should not be cut off. In the fifth year, one third of the young shoots can be cut in early spring.

Heather

Spread the heather roots horizontally. When planting, needles are added to the pit and the earth is loosened with sand. Mulch with pine chips. Heather loves pouring acidified water on it. Kemira feed him in the spring.

You can also trim, shape heather in early spring, and even after flowering and before the winter period, in late autumn. They must be covered for the winter.

Rhododendrons

A hole for the landing is dug shallow for them. They add to it in the same way as under heather, coniferous shavings, needles, sand.

They feed carefully, the fertilizers are highly diluted. Occasionally, the shrub needs to be sprayed. It is as thermophilic as heather, and is not resistant to frost, therefore for the winter it is covered with an insulating covering material, or a box, a box.
