Probably, many have seen tobacco dust on sale in specialized stores. It is packed in ordinary transparent bags, and in bright colorful ones. But for him it is needed, especially not in a tobacco store, but in a specialized store for gardeners and gardeners?
In fact, tobacco dust is a unique substance that will help fertilize the earth and destroy harmful insects without chemicals. The main thing is to know how to use it. Consider how to use tobacco dust in our area to kill harmful insects.
Destruction of harmful insects
The main active ingredient that helps in pest control is nicotine. It is dangerous to many insects, including aphids and ants. There are 4 ways to use tobacco dust to control insects. These include fumigation, dusting (scattering), preparation of decoctions and infusions and their treatment of plants.. Each of these methods is good in its own way. Let's start in order, with fumigation.
Fumigation
Fumigation is used to help control pests in garden trees. Accordingly, this method cannot be used during the flowering period, because bees are also insects. Of course, you will not sow harm to them, but you will scare them away from flowering trees, which means that there will be no pollination. And the harvest. By the way, you can also fumigate closed rooms such as greenhouses and greenhouses.
The fumigation process is very simple. Take any metal container in which you can make a fire: a brazier, a metal bucket, a basin, a vat, and so on. Light a fire or charcoal, wait until everything is well lit and dust on top. It should smoke for about 2 hours.
Attention! If fumigation is carried out in a greenhouse, greenhouse or other closed room, then leave the room during the process itself.
Dusting
Please note that this operation can be carried out with pure tobacco dust, or with a mixture! To prepare, mix equal amounts of dust and ash or lime (slaked). If the soil is alkaline, then you should not add lime. Then treat the area, just gently scattering dust or a mixture, you should take about a quarter of a glass for 1 square meter, we process the area in this way 2 times per season.
Infusion, decoction
It's easy to cook. We take 2 liters of water, add a glass of tobacco dust there, then put on fire, bring to a boil and cook for 30 minutes. Then add water to make 2 liters again. We soak for 24 hours in a dark place, after which we filter and add four liters of water. To add "stickiness" to the solution (so that it sticks better to a variety of greens and does not immediately drain from it), add a little soap, 30 grams will be enough. Mix well. Everything is ready to use. We spray everything: trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants. The main condition is to carry out processing no later than 15 days before harvest!
We figured out the broth, now let's move on to the infusion. It takes a little longer to cook, but it has the same properties as the decoction. Therefore, I personally prefer the broth, since, in my opinion, there is less fuss with it. We also take a glass of dust for 2 liters of water, boil water, fill it with a container with tobacco dust and let it brew for 3 days. We filter and apply in the same way as the broth.
Important note! When working with tobacco dust, be sure to wear a mask or respirator, this applies to both nonsmokers and smokers. In addition, if dust gets on your skin, wash it off thoroughly, otherwise burns may occur. And be careful to keep this product away from nosy children.
