As practice shows, it is not always easy to cut down any tree located close to other trees, various buildings, as well as from shrubs and flower beds. Nevertheless, the task can be significantly simplified if you take into service a few simple, but at the same time effective recommendations
Where to begin?
First, you need to decide on the direction of the future fall of the tree being cut down - choosing the right direction is very important for the simple reason that a falling tree can cause irreparable damage to buildings. And also trees growing in the neighborhood can prevent it from falling.
When to cut?
It is recommended to start cutting down a tree when calm weather is established - the slightest gust of wind can easily change the expected direction of the fall. True, as an option, you can start cutting in the wind, but always following the trajectory of the upcoming fall of the tree. At the same time, it is important not to forget that on the way of the fall of the future building materials or raw materials for obtaining firewood, in no case should there be electric wires!
In order for a tree to be guaranteed to fall in a given direction, a rope should be tied to it at 2/3 of its height, the length of which must certainly exceed the height of the tree itself. And the quick helpers will pull it in a given direction during the cutting process. Ideally, there should be several assistants. If there are none, the free end of the rope must be tied in tightness to a peg driven into the soil in advance.
How to cut?
After the end of all preparations, they proceed directly to cutting. An electric or chainsaw is best suited for this purpose. And for the exact and safest possible fall of the tree, it is necessary to strictly follow the long established sequence of cuts.
First, at a height of half a meter at an angle of forty-five degrees to the ground, you should saw through the wood about one third of the total diameter of the trunk. Such a cut is always made from the side of the future fall of the tree. And immediately after that, on the same side, make another, only this time horizontal, cut, up to its connection with the lower point of the cut made earlier. At the same time, the sawn sector will disappear from the tree, which is immediately removed. This simple procedure will help the tree fall unhindered in a given direction.
Further, from the side directly opposite to the direction of the future fall, they carefully make a new cut at an angle of forty-five degrees to the corner of the previously cut sector. This approach ensures that the tree will not jam the saw under any circumstances and will fall exclusively in the right direction. It itself will begin to slowly deviate in the direction of the fall when the new cut approaches the previously obtained angle of the cut fragment. And assistants can easily correct the direction of his fall by pulling the rope in the desired direction.
Before the fall, a characteristic crackle of the trunk should be heard, and only after that the tree will begin to fall.
When cutting down a tree, it is important not to forget about strict observance of safety rules. It does not hurt to warn the nearest neighbors about the beginning of work so that they can retire to the maximum safe distance, and also make sure that there are no pets and children nearby. In addition, the intended escape routes should be cleared in the event of an emergency. And you also need to make sure that the length of the rope with which the tree is tied was chosen correctly, and all the assistants are located at an absolutely safe distance. And even more so, do not try to smoke if a chainsaw is used to cut a tree - this is fraught with very serious consequences.
