Description of silver cinquefoil

Silver cinquefoil is known under numerous popular names: sparrow family, gamza, mad grass, upland, gorlovka, throat grass, gorlyak, rake, fibova grass, Dubrovka, toad, ovary root, milk, non-sprinkling, wormhole, worm. Silver cinquefoil is a perennial herb, which is one centimeter high. This plant will be endowed with a fairly thick rhizome. Stems of silver cinquefoil are pubescent and branched; they can be either erect or erect. The basal and lower stem leaves of this plant will be endowed with a few contiguous pairs of leaves.

The leaves of this plant will be thrice-divided, pubescent, from above they are painted in green tones, while the edges of the leaves are notched-toed and bent down. The flowers of silver cinquefoil are small, they will gather in multiflorous corymbose-paniculate inflorescences. The subordinate leaves of this plant will be oblong-linear, they are almost equal to the ovoid sepals, and the length of the petals will be about four millimeters. Moreover, such petals of silver cinquefoil turn out to be somewhat longer than sepals, and they will be painted in light yellow tones. It is noteworthy that the flowering of this plant lasts the entire summer period.

Under natural conditions, this plant is found in the territory of Ukraine, the Caucasus, Belarus, Siberia and the European part of Russia. For growth, silver cinquefoil prefers a place on the sides of roads, meadows, fields, edges, pine forests, slopes, deserts, fallows and shrubs.

Description of the medicinal properties of silver cinquefoil

Silver cinquefoil is endowed with very valuable healing properties, while it is recommended to use the herb of this plant for medicinal purposes. The concept of grass includes leaves, flowers and stems of silver cinquefoil. The presence of such valuable medicinal properties should be explained by the presence in the herb of this plant of a very significant amount of tannins, essential oil, flavonoids, vitamin C, microelements, termentol triterpenoid and the following phenol carboxylic acids: coumaric and ferulic.

Silver cinquefoil is endowed with a very valuable astringent, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hypotensive, expectorant, wound healing, hemostatic and anthelmintic effect.

As for traditional medicine, a decoction and water infusion of the herb of this plant is quite widespread here. Such medicinal agents are recommended to be used internally for enterocolitis, colitis, diarrhea, gastritis, enteritis, cirrhosis of the liver, pulmonary, uterine and hemorrhoidal bleeding, as well as for hematuria, eczematous dermatitis, jaundice, gout and rheumatism.

Outwardly, this plant is used in the form of compresses for weeping eczema, wounds, furunculosis, hemorrhoids, as well as for gargling for various throat diseases, abrasions, ulcerative stomatitis, bleeding gums and ulcerative gingivitis. It is noteworthy that fresh crushed leaves of silver cinquefoil are recommended to be applied to purulent cuts and wounds, which is done in order to accelerate their healing. The boiled herb of this plant is also recommended to be applied to the throat for various colds.
